loved everything about this dog park!!!
- AmberApr 16, 2023Fun times
took my dog here to give him something different to experience. he wasn’t so interested in the water, but he did like running around in the sand and watching other dogs dive in the water. wish there was a park like this closer to the west valley!!

cool park. cool dog parents. a little lax on poop pickup. worth the trip our doodle loved it.
- JaimeApr 23, 2022Fun and convenient
My two Goldens LOVE the beach. And I love that I can wash them immediately after their fun so they don’t get icky germs from other pups. We’ve gone every weekend for years and have only had one mildly negative person whose dog bit mine. But that’s the nature of dog parks.

This has been my favorite dog park in the Valley so far but it's about 40 minutes from me so I'm not able to visit often. I avoid the lake since most of the cities use reclaimed water for their lakes and ponds but Duke loves running around with the other dogs. We had one situation where a dog was being aggressive and the owner was understanding and worked with his dog to improve when approached.

Gave this park a few tries, every time we’ve been it hasn’t been a good experience at all. the first time a dog was attacked in front of us and needed stitches. owners at this park don’t seem to care what their dogs do and aren’t attentive to their dogs at all. the water is disgusting and never taken care of, and the washing areas aren’t much better. this park is a cool concept, but a really big disappointment
- DarienMay 23, 2021Amazing Park
I come every weekend with my pup. On hot days we go to the dog beach and cooler days we go to the normal. Amazing options for my pup.

As a visitor from Oregon, I have been bringing my dogs to this park whenever I visit the area. They have such a great time and are worn out and ready to chill out. I highly recommend washing them thoroughly after their play in the water and try to get them out for drinks so they aren’t drinking the lake water because unfortunately dogs often do their business in the water.

I have a couple of really active dogs. They love to run, hike, play, and most of all they love the beach. When I can’t take them on an adventure, I take them here. We started coming here 4 months ago, after my youngest Aussie was fully vaccinated. The friendliest active dogs hang out in the water area. I’m grateful to have the dog park so close to me! Especially now that it’s rattlesnake season. We won’t be hitting the trails for a couple months. So glad my pups can socialize, and get worn out in such a fun way!

We used to go to Cosmo Park all the time when it was newer. We had two 8 month old Golden Retriever pups with all their shots who loved swimming in the lake at Cosmo...however, one of our pups came down with PARVO and had to be put down...shortly thereafter, our Chihuahua who had never been to the park also got PARVO and had to be put down. Be careful taking young dogs there. ALSO I have noticed over the years, the park is not being kept clean and the grass is not well kept so alot of the areas are just dirt. It was a great concept park and however...it is a petri dish for dog illnesses which can potentially be fatal for your dogs.

Great dog park. Just wish there was more shade.... We'd frequent it more but it's bit far for us.
- StephanieMar 10, 2019Large With Divided Sections
Very large dog park and I especially liked how there was a separate area for smaller dogs. I just wish there was more shade in the smaller area as there is for the larger dogs, but we will be back!
- HaleyFeb 12, 2019Good but...
It’s a good park. Plenty of room for dogs ( Main area, water area and timid dog area) but I don’t go there very often because the water has a weird blue tint to it and the grass is dead with a lot of dirt patches.
- FrankDec 30, 2018Best Dog Park I’ve Ever Been To!!!
Loved it... has a great water area. Very nice large grass area and one for the smaller more timid dogs to!

I’ve been twice so far with my 3 month old Red Heeler mix. She had so much fun in the water and running around the gated dog park. We also had a lot of fun going up and down the little obstacle course that they had. My only complaint is that there was a really tall obstacle course that was locked both times we were there. And the water does have a weird blue tint to it.
- LannieMore than a year agoSmall dogs need shade and water fountain
Sod ? what about shade and water to drink , just like the larger dogs
your adding more shade to the larger side of the park, Don't forget about the
small dogs and there owners. Enough with locking the gates !
I was here years ago , much better then. - SophiaMore than a year agoDo NOT go here! Your dog will get SICK!
Brought my dog here because he LOVES the water whenever he finds a puddle to splash around in, so naturally I thought this pond would be perfect. He did love it, and had a great time in the water, but shortly after I started taking him he got diarrhea that wouldn't go away even with a simple diet. Took him to the vet and he was INFESTED with Giardia bacteria! $225 worth of medication later and a week of isolation and he is finally back to normal now. The vet told me that Giardia lives in still water and can be transmitted through dogs doing their business in the water and then other dogs playing in it/drinking it. This being Arizona, he couldn't have gotten it from any other large standing water source. I have told the city but I am sure they won't do anything about it. If you take your dogs PLEASE avoid the water! Giardia is treatable but can be fatal if not treated, and is especially dangerous to puppies and elderly dogs. If you take your dog here avoid the water and just go for in the dry area and avoid the water!
- SilviaMore than a year agoSix fenced in areas for your dog
This place would have gotten 5 bones if the pond was nicer. A strong sewage smell with gray blackish water was on the shoreline. This may be an abnormal event since this was our only visit and I saw no one else complain about this. Otherwise a great place for your dog.
- SilviaMore than a year agoPond for the dogs but has a sewage smell
This would be 5 bones if not for the smell of sewage in the water. Since we are out of town this may be an isolated case and we just came at a bad time of the season. 5 different sections for your dog to run in. Great park for the dogs.
- AndreaMore than a year agoOnly place like it!
We drove for an hour to come here! It was so fun! Many areas for dogs to play, shade for us 😊 My dog would have stayed and played for hours!
- CassandraMore than a year agoWorth the Drive!
I learned about Cosmo years ago and have been a loyal visitor! I bring all of my dogs and recommend it to all of my friends! The park is always clean and the people are always friendly and they're even updating it! My favorite thing about the park is the swimming area for the dogs. I have a large golden retriever and he absolutely loves it! :) Great clean park!
- ChandyMore than a year agoWOW! Must Go
Passing through Phoenix I heard about this park. Hands down it is the nicest, largest dog park I've been to. The lay out is perfect. Separate areas for each temperament of dogs and owners keep an eye on their dogs. LOVE LOVE LOVE the beach entry lake area. My dog isn't much of a swimmer but plenty of room to splash and chase.
BEST dog park i've seen while traveling cross country.
A def must go!
- PaulaMore than a year agoNice but...
This is a very nice dog park. The parking is situated up on the hill and the dog area is down below. There are nice sidewalks that make it easy to get to the fenced in area. There is a small dog section and then a bigger fenced area(broken up into sections) for the larger dogs. What I am guessing is supposed to be a grassy area is now all dirt section it has a wash station outside of it and then another grass section not currently being used ( I am not sure why). And then the Lake section, which also has a dog wash station in the fenced section. The dog wash station is very nice, although it could use a hook to attach the leash to so that you could use both hands to wash off the dog. When I arrived on Sunday 11/9/14 the first thing I heard was a dog fight in the lake area and then I heard one dog owner cuss out the owner who's dog started the fight. Perhaps this is not a normal occurrence but I almost took my dog and went home. I don't know if the fighter was taken home but eventually we did go into the lake area and my girl was able to swim a bit (although we need to work on the swimming and ball fetching).

Cosmo dog park is a bit far from where we live but its soo worth the drive! My german shorthaired pointer loves to run and the dry section provides just that! All the dogs there have been friendly. The rules do say that the dogs must be spayed and neutered but some people unfortinatley do not follow this requirement. This dog park is amazing and if not for the dogs that are not spayed and neutered i would give this dog park 5 bones!!

Lots of running space and climbers keep active dogs busy! I love that this park has three sections, and a section with water (big hit for AZ)!
