Retired teacher. I have almost always had goldens but after losing 2 last year, I elected to raise just one, a golden retriever/ yellow lab named Jasper.

Great place for visiters
South Point Bark ParkI spent a month in the area with my very energetic 10 month old goldador. He loved it. We went almost every day. it is very muddy around the gate area after rain but lots of room to chase a ball or other dogs. Regulars are very friendly. There are some people (usually ones that have 4 or more dogs) that pay no attention to their pets nor do they pick up after them. That is my major reason for the 4 bones—there seem to be a lot of land mines especially in the section closest the tracks and by the small dog area.
A Great Place For Making Friends
Minto-Brown Island Parkboth you and your dog will happily make many great puppy and people friends here. my dog was so fearful I couldn’t take him on a walk because he would freeze at the sound of a barking dog. After a few trips to Minto-Brown he flourished into a social butterfly. He has a half doz. regular buddies that love to wrestle and play chase but he tries to make friends with everyone. he is a13-mo. old 75 lb mass of energy so playing chase and wrestling is great. it doe get a little muddy at times after a lot of rain but there’s really enough space for all kinds of dog personalities.
Love This Park
Cosmo Dog ParkAs a visitor from Oregon, I have been bringing my dogs to this park whenever I visit the area. They have such a great time and are worn out and ready to chill out. I highly recommend washing them thoroughly after their play in the water and try to get them out for drinks so they aren’t drinking the lake water because unfortunately dogs often do their business in the water.
