Thank you, Matthew for your accurate and straightr forward review below. Sure enough, I arrived to find someone without a dog loitering. He was fine, but it was awkward for both of us. No dogs there at all and it was a popular time of day for a dog park visit. Park was okay. Obstacles. Lots of sand, leaves, and twigs. Shade. Water spigot. Free parking. It seems more of a local spot that isn't really comfortable with visitors. Can really place my finger on it, just not a particularly tourist-y area.

    Close to perfect

I am in town for a couple days and took my two 10 y/o Staffordshire Terriers to the dogpark today. No other dogs or people and I was there for 90 minutes. Well maintained large-dog and small-dog parks. Grass cut recently. Ample shade and trash/poop receptacles. Poop bag dispensers were empty. Trash and poop bag receptacles were emptied while I was there. Sufficient parking. Maybe COVID-19 has cut down on people using the park. No requirement for dogs to be spayed/neutered or current on shots. But the park itself is great!

    He Loved It

This park is spacious with several obstacles for pups to enjoy. This park is never crowded and has all the things your pup will need: lots is space to run, obstacles to tackle, water sources, and seating for humans. I love the fact that it is never crowded and there is plenty of parking. This place is far from “sketchy”. My pup loves it #tyrthemalinois

    Kind Of Sketchy

Inside park was nice but watch out for red ants. Neighborhood is pretty sketch and there was creeper parked in old truck staring at people. Looked pretty rapey. Don’t go alone.

    Fun

There is a small dog area and a large dog area joined by a common area. There are ramps and tunnels for the dogs and shady benches for people. There are drinking fountains for people and pups. There are bathrooms in the main part of the park too. My only complaint was the amount of dog poo in the park. Watch your step.

Lovely spacious park, mostly friendly people. Evening stoner hangout.

We're new to the area and have visited this park many times with our pets and small children. There's a lot of space for both people and the dogs to run free, play fetch, and socialize with other dogs and dog owners.

There are two fenced in areas, one for smaller dogs and a larger field for larger dogs. Each area features pipes for the dogs to walk through, and ramps with a platform to climb. There's also an enclosed common area with a picnic table under a pavilion for people to sit and chat while relaxing and watching their pets enjoy their time at the park. Over in the corner is a shower and a fountain above a communal water bowl for all the pups to take a drink when they get thirsty. There are waste pickup bags and plenty of rubbish cans & dog poop disposal cans around the park. Both fenced play areas have pretty decent lawns, and benches, but the common area and parking area both have a sandy dirt ground flooring which you must go through on your way in to and out of the park, so prepare for a little mud or dirty paws, & don't forget to bring a towel!

Sometimes, when the gates break or other problems occur with the park infrastructure, the people who run the park must be contacted manually by dog owners at the park who have obtained email addresses of park administrators who are responsible for park maintenance management and repairs, and requests for tasks are eventually completed but it takes a long time. It's apparent that whomever on the city staff is assigned park duties must be a bit overloaded with jobs, because the time it takes to complete repairs seems to take a very long time. There is no posted contact information on any signs at the park with phone numbers to report problems to park managers.

Very seldom, there are altercations between people at the dog park, sometimes yelling at each other louder than the barking dogs they're yelling at each other about! The neighborhood in which the dog park's at, seems to be spotty in terms of home upkeep and pride of home ownership- some homes have great lawns and landscaping, others have sand lawns and mismatched fences, but it could much worse. At night up until the wee hours of the morning, there must be people who sit under the aforementioned pavilion and smoke cannabis. They're probably good people just sowing their young wild oats, but I was able to see remains of a blunt sesh on the ground in the park's common area. At least they threw away any cardboard and plastic trash, but there was a pile of tobacco on the ground by the picnic table. This could be dangerous because if it's a scented cigar they used to make the blunt with, dogs may be enticed to eat it and become poisoned. I encourage all cannabis users to partake responsibly, and to use the garbage cans in the park for their intended purpose rather than leaving a pile of tobacco on the ground! Also, legalize it!

Take your dog to the park, every day!

    Very nice

I took my Pitbull here and they have enclosed areas for large and small dogs. I've gone several times and my dog has a blast. There is a common area with water fountains and seats in the shade for us as well as some obstacles for our dogs and bags to clean up after our pets. For the most part the people are very kind and welcoming. Haven't had a single problem with dogs acting out without owners putting them in ck right away. The only 1 time I had a problem was when a lady was being very raciest and didn't want her dog associating with my dog because of his breed which is sad because my dog isn't aggressive and I haven't seen any aggressive dogs in this park. I think it's a breath of fresh air to have a place like this for our dogs.
