Fort De Soto Dog Beach Park

The Fort De Soto Park has large fenced areas for both large and small dogs, including dog showers for those hot days. Dogs are allowed anywhere in the park on a six-foot leash, except on any beach. The Paw Playground area is the exception -- dogs are allowed on the beach, and they are allowed off leash on that area of beach. They can also run free inside the fenced areas. On a hot summer day, you can cool off your dog by hosing him down, and drinking water is available too. The park also has plenty for two-legged visitors too -- an old Spanish fort to explore, gorgeous parks, overnight camping with plenty of amenities, and picnic areas. The north beach was named "America's #1 Beach" in 2008 & 2009 by TripAdvisor.

Gulfside Beach (aka Algiers Beach)

One of the many pet-friendly beaches of Sanibel Island, Gulfside Beach (or Algiers Beach) makes a great escape for you and Fido. A portion of the beach is located near a nature preserve. Dogs are allowed on a leash, and owner's must clean up after their pets. There are picnic tables and restrooms available, and an hourly parking fee is charged between the hours of 7 am to 7 pm (free after 7 pm).

Jupiter Beach (Off-Leash Beach)

Jupiter Beach is home to one of Florida's best off-leash beaches. Dogs are free to roam a designated section of the beach running along A1A near Ocean Cay Park. Visitors can park their cars for free in the lot at the intersection of Ocean Blvd and Marcinski Rd or in one of the spaces along A1A. Friends of Jupiter Beach (FJB) is dedicated to keeping the beach clean & dog-friendly by promoting the rules of the beach & continuous beach cleanup activities. Dogs are not allowed in lifeguard areas or Town of Jupiter parks, (Carlin Park).

Bonita Beach Dog Park

Dog Beach is a strip of beach land on the outside edge of Lover's Key State Park along the Fort Myers/Bonita Springs line. It’s an off leash beach to let your dog run free and frolic in the shallow, calm water of the Gulf of Mexico. There are no fences, leashes or worries. Just plenty of dogs of all sizes to play with. Many visit that don't even have dogs, but enjoy watching them run and play with their furry friends on land and water. You can't see if from the main road, but follow the signs around the trees and a clearing will open up to Dog Beach. During high tide you may have to wade through some water to get to it so be prepared. There is a portable toilet, and no running water so remember to bring some for your pet. Brohard Paw Park

Brohard Paw Park is the only beach area in the county where dogs are welcome. This dog-friendly beach offers doggy and human drinking fountains, dog showers, fire hydrants, leash posts, picnic tables, and benches.

Dog Beach at Pier Park

When standing in front of the city pier (on Front Beach Rd), the dog beach is located on the right side of the pier. Dogs must be kept on-leash and please keep the limit to 3 dogs per person.

Anne's Beach

Anne's Beach is a very secluded dog-friendly beach with plenty of shade. There are poop bags and even a fresh water bowl for dogs available on occasion.

Haulover Beach Park

Haulover Beach Park features a bark park with an enclosure for small dogs (less than 35 lbs.) and large dogs (more than 35 lbs.) located near the south picnic area. Entrance to the bark park is through parking lot #3 located on the west side of Collins Avenue if traveling southbound or through parking lot #4 located on the east side of Collins Avenue if traveling northbound. The bark park features shade trees, picnic tables, and drinking fountains for both dogs and their companions, as well as doggie waste bag dispensers and waste containers. The bark park is open from 8am to sunset, seven days a week. Parking fees are $2 per vehicle. Dogs are also welcome on the beach, near lifeguard tower #3, seven days a week from 8am-3pm. This portion of the beach is directly across from the bark park and also accessible through parking lot #3 and #4.

Picnic Island Beach Dog Park

Lazy Dog Kayak

Lazy Dog Kayak offers a couple of different options. The first is just a regular rental. Rent the kayak, put the dog in front, and off you go across the channel and down the canal. There are plenty of birds and coconuts floating by along the way to keep your dog entertained. Option two is the doggie paddle. Several people take their dogs in the kayaks to a sandbar together. It's like a private island dog park, so your dog will be tuckered out for the rest of the day by the time you make it back to the marina. Lazy dog is located on Stock Island, the first island north of Key West, at mile marker 4. $

Smyrna Dunes Park

Dogs are welcome to join you on-leash at this lovely inlet which also includes showers, bathrooms, and plenty of parking. This park has five ecosystems represented within it, elevated boardwalks, picnic pavilions, nature trails, an observation tower, and more.

Key West Dog Beach

Dogs will have some fun in the sun here, but be sure to keep a close eye on your pup, as this is a rocky beach. After getting a little exercise on the beach, head over to Louie's Backyard, which is located next door to the Dog Beach and is a pet-friendly place to grab a refreshing beverage.

Dr. Phillips Dog Park

Fort Lauderdale Canine Beach

Fort Lauderdale allows dogs on-leash in a large marked area of the beach. There are dog bags, water, and beach showers at this dog park. There is even a city officer on site to help with any problems and rule enforcement at the beach. The beach is close to the road, but officer and dunes are both between the beach and the road, so really, the only issue is parking. A one-weekend permit costs $7 per dog.

Confederate Point Dog Park

Lighthouse Point Park

This park has awesome beaches and a wonderful view of Ponce Inlet Lighthouse. It is a great place to get some wonderful photos, and they even provide doggie clean up bags. This is not an off-leash park. So make sure Fido is leashed at all times. Leashed dogs are allowed on the inlet and river shoreline beach Lighthouse Point Park located on north side of Ponce de Leon Inlet.

Bayview Dog Park and Beach

This 1-acre acre park allows dogs to have water access to the inlet near Bayou Texar. There is a covered area with picnic tables so owners can be in the shade, as well as other picnic tables along the beach. Clean-up stations with bags and trash cans, showers for both dogs and people, and water bowls are available.

The play area features 5 acres with a 6 foot galvanized chain link fence with double gated entries. The area is split into two separate access areas for small and large dogs. In addition, there are water fountains for people and dogs, picnic tables, shelters, dog washes, a hitching post, and doggie mitt receptacles.

Barber Dog Park

Keewaydin Island

Keeywadin Island is a sanctuary for wildlife and recreation. The 8-mile long barrier island is one of southwest Florida’s largest unabridged barrier islands. Please note: Dogs are allowed on the beach, but they MUST be leashed. There are no facilities on the island and a boat is needed to get on and off the island. There are several boat rental companies that would allow dogs in the Naples area. If staying at the Naples Bay Resort & Marina, the hotel does offer boat rentals straight from their property's marina. Pure Naples at Tin City also allows dogs on their rentals (not on sightseeing cruises). If you are coming from Marco Island, there are rental boats available from Rose Marina. Guests who stay at the Boat House Motel often rent a boat for several days and tie up their rental at the Boat House Motel's free boat slip.

De Soto National Memorial Beach

City of Naples Dog Park (Central Bark)

Central Bark, Naples dog park is at Riverside Circle near the intersection of Central Avenue and Goodlette-Frank Road. The park's site is on the northeast corner of Goodlette-Frank Road and Central Avenue. The park is within walking distance of downtown. The park is approximately 2.5 acres and has separate off leash areas for large and small dogs, benches, water fountains for both man and beast, a shaded structure, dog washing stations, poop-bag dispensers, waste cans and plenty of running room.

Honeymoon Island State Park Dog Beach

Freedom to roam, white sandy beachfront, gentle lapping waves and crystalline water means happy pooches and owners alike. In addition to having their own beach on the southern tip of the island, dogs are also allowed on the nature trail. Pets must be on a 6-foot handheld leash at all times while in these areas.

Lake Eola Park

Although technically not a dog park, the nearly 1-mile walking path around Lake Eola in downtown Orlando, Florida is very pet friendly. There are several dog-related events that take place at Lake Eola each year, and almost any time of the day you'll find pet owners taking their four-legged friends for a walk around the lake. Poop bag dispensers are conveniently located around the lake path so that you can clean up after your pet. In addition to the lake path, visitors can also enjoy the swan boats available for rental by the hour and half hour. There is also an amphitheater where concerts and other events are regularly held, as well as a couple of pet-friendly restaurants next to the lake, which will allow you to dine outdoors with your pooch.

West Park Dog Park

Hillsborough counties first dog park, it is conveniently located in the western part of the county near Tampa International Airport. The play area features 5 acres with a 6 foot galvanized chain link fence with double gated entries. The area is split into two separate access areas for small and large dogs. In addition, there are water fountains for people and dogs, picnic tables, shelters, dog washes, a hitching post, and doggie mitt receptacles. The park has many shade trees, an adjacent children's playground, and baseball fields. This is a great destination for the entire family to enjoy time outside with their favorite pooch.

Flagler Beach

Flagler Beach welcomes leashed dogs on the beach located north of 10th Street and south of 10th Street only. Parking is available off of A1A on any side street. Leashes should be 8 feet long or shorter. Bring your own doggie bags and water.

Dog Beach of Hollywood

Head out to the Dog Beach of Hollywood where all members of your family, canines included, can enjoy fun at the beach. The dog beach is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, year-round. Hours are 3:00 pm-7:00 pm, November through May, and 5:00 pm-9:00 pm, April through October. Daily passes and six-month passes are available from a park ranger during dog beach hours or The Department of Recreation and Cultural Arts, 1405 S. 28th Avenue. The Dog Beach of Hollywood is monitored by a park ranger, however, good dog park etiquette is highly encouraged regardless. Aggressive dogs are not tolerated, and owners are expected to clean up their dog’s waste. Furthermore, dogs are not allowed on the beach outside the designated hours or location.

Naples Water Tours

Dogwood Dog Park is a 42-acre space (25 acres of which are currently fenced) that provides fitness, relaxation, and socializing opportunities for both you and your dog. Dogs can run off-leash to their hearts' content in a safe, controlled environment. The off-leash park offers both dogs and their people a variety of recreational and fitness amenities, including dog-swimming ponds, jogging/walking trails, and exercise equipment. Perhaps even more importantly, the off-leash park gives dogs a chance to socialize with others of their own kind. Dogwood Dog Park features the following amenities: a 2-acre swimming lake for dogs, 25 fenced acres with 6-foot chain link fence, huge fields for frisbee and throwing balls, a 4-acre shady area for those hot days, a dog shower for muddy paws, a 10-acre natural wooded area with nature trails, and a small dog area for dogs under 25 pounds with both sunny and shady sections, and Lake Fifi, a small dog swimming pond! There are also 4 lighted acres for use after dark (until 10 pm), a searate 3-acre area that can be rented for parties, playground equipment for dog-friendly kids, and a full agility course.

Rover Run

Rover Run is located at Veterans Community Park. It is the only dog park in Collier County. Small and large dogs have separate fenced-in areas.

Miami Beach's own dog beach was voted #1 dog park in the metro-Miami area by a public poll (Curbed Magazine). Proof of current vaccination required. The bark beach sits adjacent to the eight-block oceanfront natural area of North Shore Open Space Park (also pet friendly for dogs on leashes) with jogging trails, exercise stations and picnic pavilions. The adjoining North Shore is a charming neighborhood filled with tropical mid-century modern buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places - which provides a great place to dry off with an evening stroll after your swim. A great place to explore old Miami Beach the way if used to be (without the hustle and bustle of South Beach). There are also a few great restaurants nearby with pet-friendly outdoor seating - our favorite is Burgers and Shakes at Collins and 74th Street.

Canova Dog Beach

This 9.1-acre community beach park includes a small pavilion, grill, picnic shelter, benches along crossover, restrooms, drinking fountain and outside showers. One of the 3 dune crossovers is wheelchair accessible. Canova Beach Park is home to Brevard County's only dog-friendly beach. All dogs must be on a leash and must wear tags showing their current license and vaccinations. There is no cost to use the Dog Beach, however owners must pick up after their pets. Waste bags and proper receptacles are available.

This is an 8-acre park, with 3-acres that is for dogs only. It offers three separate fenced areas - one for small dogs, one for large dogs and the third for guide, therapy or very shy dogs. Commonly referred to as Hanna Park, Katheryn Abby Hanna Park welcomes leashed dogs throughout the year in the park and at the beach. This 450-acre park offers a water park, freshwater lake, pet friendly campground, hiking and biking trails, one of Jacksonville's best surfing beaches and more. Most areas of the park are dog friendly. Just keep Fido on a leash (8 feet or less) at all times, clean up after your pup, and obey all posted signs.

Gadsden Dog Park

Vilano Beach is northeast of St. Augustine on the A1A Scenic and historical byway. There is a Publix Store where you can stop and pick up food and dog treats. There is a fee to get on the beach. You can drive your vehicle on the beach which is nice as then you don't have to carry all your stuff in to the beach area. We were here in March and beach was very dog friendly. Not sure if rules change for the summer. Nice beach. Our dogs loved it.

Turkey Lake Park

Naples Botanical Garden

Naples Botanical Garden is a 170-acre world-class garden paradise that features the plants and cultures of the tropics and subtropics between the latitudes of 26 degrees North and 26 degrees South including Brazil, the Caribbean, Southeast Asia and Florida. A hands-on interactive Children’s Garden, along with 90 acres of beautifully restored natural habitats, walking trails and a Butterfly Garden offer educational entertainment and enjoyment for people of all ages. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome in the Garden on the following days: Sundays 9-11:30am, Tuesdays 8-11am, and Thursdays 3-5pm. Garden Members (and their dogs on designated days) can visit for no additional cost. The Garden also hosts an annual public event, Dog Day in the Garden, geared toward “man’s best friend” and their owners featuring pet-friendly vendors, canine-focused demonstrations, a dog fashion show, and enough treat stations to keep tails wagging throughout the day. Michael Crotty Bicentennial Park

Tom Brown Park

Tom Brown Park is located off of Capital Circle in Tallahassee. The park includes several trails, grassy hills, tennis courts, disc golf, a dog park and playgrounds. Tom Brown's dog park is off the main road on a dirt roadway. There are two separate fenced in areas for both small and large dogs with double gate entry ways. Some conveniences of the park are the water fountains for both pets and people. Also, restrooms are within walking distance if needed. There is a picnic area for guests in both shaded and sunny areas. Each fenced in area is grassy with a few sandier areas. Disposal bags and trash cans are conveniently located next to one another at the entrance of both the small and large dog areas.

West Orange Dog Park

This is a pleasant dog park with plenty of shade and a water fountain for both dogs and humans. There are balls to chase, plenty of mulch to dig in, and time out pens (just in case)! There are two separate areas at the park -- one for smaller dogs and a bigger one for large dogs. Both have shaded seating areas for humans, some 'play equipment' to entertain dogs and a concrete path for walking on (handy if you need to bring a stroller or are in a wheelchair). Sometimes there is a paddling pool so your canine friend can cool off. There is a hose in the smaller park and both parks have plenty of plastic baggies to encourage people to pick up after their pet.

Home of the cleanest freshwater dog lake in Broward County! Besides our lake, we offer disc dog events generally out at Markham Park. The latter events are only held in the fall/winter/early spring because of the hot weather here in South Florida. To find us: I-95 to Griffin Road, go west to the first light, make a left, go through the next light (that turn takes you to Bass Pro). The lake will be on the left. Our entrance is at the south end of the lake opposite the sailboats.

Large fenced dog park located within San Luis Mission Park. If you park by the restrooms/playground, the dog park is less than half a mile up the trail. Park is mostly sand with lots of trees, but can get muddy after rain. There is a water fountain provided for dogs. There is no separate small dog area, only one large fenced area. There are also some trails behind the dog park for walking leashed dogs.

Liza Jackson Dog Park

Mango Dog Park features 5 acres of play area with a 6 foot galvanized chain link fence and double gated entries. The Park is split into two separate access areas for small and large dogs. In addition, there are water fountains for people and dogs, picnic tables, two pavilions, a place to hose off your dog, and a ’swim area’ on both sides (plastic pools). Doggie ‘Clean Up Mitts’ are provided. Restrooms are available. There is also some outdoor night lighting. Happy Tails Park is a great place to walk your dog and meet friends. Located at Seminole Park in the City of Plantation, the park provides five acres dedicated to man's best friend. The park is home to the Plantation Canine Unit and features three distinct activity areas -- a leash free run and fun area for large dogs, an exercise area ideal for agility training, and an area for smaller dogs (twenty-five pounds or less). The park features ample parking, restroom facilities and pavilions, and is open to the public from 7:00 a.m. until dusk, seven days a week. Holiday hours will vary. Lots of shaded trails and interesting smells for the dogs! My dogs loved it there. Great to see a city preserve natural beauty and not build condos etc on it. Big pond/lake in the middle of it so the dogs could go in and cool down. Didn't see any dog water fountains but there were poop bags at the entrance off Beneva Rd and lots of trash cans throughout.

Dog Friendly Beach at Spanish River Park

Local dogs are allowed with a permit at this dog-friendly beach at Spanish River Park. To purchase a permit, applicants must provide documentation proving residency. The permit holder MUST CARRY permit(s) on their person at all times when bringing a dog/dogs to the beach. There is a limit of two dogs per person, and a permit must be purchased for each dog. Dogs must be leashed when entering and departing the dog beach. Owners may park in Spanish River Park and enter Bark Beach with a valid City or Greater Boca Raton Beach and Park District Beach Parking Permit, or by paying the applicable daily rate at the Spanish River Gatehouse. Permits are effective yearly from October 1 to September 30. Fees are not pro-rated. Single weekend passes for (Friday, Saturday & Sunday) are available for purchase at the Spanish River Gatehouse only.

Wash area, benches, shaded seating, clean up bags, agility equipment, restrooms, fully fenced with double gated entrance and drinking fountains.

West Orange Trail

The West Orange Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors.
