Causeway Islands This facility, approximately 10-acres, is located on SR/CR 867, consists of the road sides of two spoil islands built and used to link the mainland to Sanibel Island. The causeway bisects San Carlos Bay a short distance from the mouth of the Caloosahatchee River, that allows bay and gulf side access. As you are traveling from the mainland towards Sanibel Island you will pass through a D.O.T. Toll booth (toll is $6 , no fee required for park use) then crossover a "sky" bridge and arrive at the first island, referred to as "Island A". If you continue on, you will crossover another "flat" bridge and arrive at the second island referred to as "Island B". Both islands have been a very popular destination since built and can accessed from the water as well. Some of the activities enjoyed are fishing, wading/swimming (beware of submerged structures), picnicking, canoeing/kayaking, (no launching or retrieval of vessels, this would include both aerial and water type crafts), wind surfing, kite boarding, shelling, sun bathing or just plain relaxing in the shade. Island "A" has parking only. Island "B" offers restrooms, drinking fountains (located on each side of the road) and a few picnic tables on the gulf side. Grilling is permitted, so feel free to bring your own. No ground fires permitted. No alcoholic beverages allowed. Leashed pets welcomed but, please remember to clean up after your pet. See Details

Island Paws Island Paws was created by two girls, two dogs, and one very old calico cat. When the five of us moved to Sanibel in 2003 we had no idea that a store for our 4-legged furry friends was in our future. But, we soon realized that there was no place nearby where our pets could get all natural foods, shop for delicious treats, or experience the newest and most unique toys. So Island Paws was born. We opened our doors in October 2004 and continue to provide the finest pet products and supplies for your best friend. Island Paws offers quality health and nutrition, gourmet treats, and unique gifts. It is our pleasure to be able to share our love of pets with so many people. We believe that pets are a part of the family. They deserve our love and understanding, and a scratch on the belly whenever time allows! We wish all pets and their humans a long, healthy, and happy life! See Details
