Pet Friendly Keewaydin Island
Keewaydin Island Keeywadin Island is a sanctuary for wildlife and recreation. The 8-mile long barrier island is one of southwest Florida’s largest unabridged barrier islands. Please note: Dogs are allowed on the beach, but they MUST be leashed. There are no facilities on the island and a boat is needed to get on and off the island. There are several boat rental companies that would allow dogs in the Naples area. If staying at the Naples Bay Resort & Marina, the hotel does offer boat rentals straight from their property's marina. Pure Naples at Tin City also allows dogs on their rentals (not on sightseeing cruises). If you are coming from Marco Island, there are rental boats available from Rose Marina. Guests who stay at the Boat House Motel often rent a boat for several days and tie up their rental at the Boat House Motel's free boat slip. See Details

Naples Dog Park Naples Dog Park is at Riverside Circle near the intersection of Central Avenue and Goodlette-Frank Road. The park's site is on the northeast corner of Goodlette-Frank Road and Central Avenue. The park is within walking distance of downtown. The park is approximately 2.5 acres and has separate off-leash areas for large and small dogs, benches, water fountains for both man and beast, a shaded structure, dog washing stations, poop-bag dispensers, waste cans and plenty of running room. Naples Botanical Garden Naples Botanical Garden is a 170-acre world-class garden paradise that features the plants and cultures of the tropics and subtropics between the latitudes of 26 degrees North and 26 degrees South including Brazil, the Caribbean, Southeast Asia and Florida. A hands-on interactive Children’s Garden, along with 90 acres of beautifully restored natural habitats, walking trails and a Butterfly Garden offer educational entertainment and enjoyment for people of all ages. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome in the Garden on the following days: Sundays 9-11:30am, Tuesdays 8-11am, and Thursdays 3-5pm. Garden Members (and their dogs on designated days) can visit for no additional cost. The Garden also hosts an annual public event, Dog Day in the Garden, geared toward “man’s best friend” and their owners featuring pet-friendly vendors, canine-focused demonstrations, a dog fashion show, and enough treat stations to keep tails wagging throughout the day. Gulfside City Park Gulfside City Park is pet-friendly. One of the many pet-friendly beaches of Sanibel Island, Gulfside City Park is located near a City of Sanibel and Federal nature preserve. The beach is also home to threatened and endangered nesting shorebirds and sea turtles during much of the year. Dogs must be kept on a leash (maximum 8 feet) at all times, and owners are required by law to clean up after their pets. There are picnic tables, wash stations, and restrooms available, and an hourly parking fee is charged between the hours of 7 am to 7 pm (free after 7 pm). See Details
Bonita Beach Dog Park Dog Beach is a strip of beach land on the outside edge of Lover's Key State Park along the Fort Myers/Bonita Springs line. It’s an off leash beach to let your dog run free and frolic in the shallow, calm water of the Gulf of Mexico. There are no fences, leashes or worries. Just plenty of dogs of all sizes to play with. Many visit that don't even have dogs, but enjoy watching them run and play with their furry friends on land and water. You can't see if from the main road, but follow the signs around the trees and a clearing will open up to Dog Beach. During high tide you may have to wade through some water to get to it so be prepared. There is a portable toilet, and no running water so remember to bring some for your pet.
