    Gasparilla Island State Park

    Dogs are allowed in certain areas of Gasparilla Island State Park. This fisherman's paradise is separated from the mainland by Charlotte Harbor and Pine Island Sound and is one of the Gulf Coast barrier islands. Your pooch can join you in the picnic areas, but are not permitted on the beaches or in the Boca Grande Lighthouse. Pets must be well-behaved and kept on a six-foot, handheld leash at all times. The fee for entrance into this park is $3 per vehicle and you can access it every day of the week from 8am until sunset. Visit Website

      Beautiful place

      You can access the beach from several streets on Gasparilla Island. Some say dogs are not allowed, but a few don’t have signs saying if allowed or not. We read on google several comments saying dog owners had taken their well behaved fur babies and decided to go ourselves. We kept out girl on the leash the whole time, and did see several other doggos, some off leash. We will be returning to this beach definitely!

      Not many places to go

      Came in August and parked near the lighthouse. Places for the dog to go were extremely limited.
