Pinecrest Gardens Leashed dogs are welcome to visit Pinecrest Gardens every Saturday and Sunday. Pinecrest Gardens, South Florida's Cultural Arts Park, is home to over one thousand varieties of exotic tropical plants and palm trees. Natural streams, caves, and fissures are all present in the Gardens as well. Dog owners can check Pinecrest Gardens' website for information on dog-friendly events held throughout the year. Haulover Beach Park Haulover Beach Park features a bark park with an enclosure for small dogs (less than 35 lbs.) and large dogs (more than 35 lbs.) located near the south picnic area. Entrance to the bark park is through parking lot #3 located on the west side of Collins Avenue if traveling southbound or through parking lot #4 located on the east side of Collins Avenue if traveling northbound. The bark park features shade trees, picnic tables, and drinking fountains for both dogs and their companions, as well as doggie waste bag dispensers and waste containers. The park is open daily from 8am to 4pm in the designated beach area between lifeguard tower #2 and #3 only. Dogs are welcome with their companion on the portion of the beach directly across from the bark park and accessible through parking lots #3 and #4. Dogs must be on a leash at all times except within the designated beach area. See Details
Hobie Island Beach Park Hobie Beach is Miami-Dade County's only dog-friendly beach. This off-leash beach is a man-made pooch paradise. Your pooch can roam around the sand and dive into the water, but be careful of the windsurfers slaloming around the water. There are lots of places to park nearby and places to chill in the shade while your dog plays. The beach can be accessed from sunrise to sunset. See Details
Bark Beach at North Shore Open Space Park Bark Beach at North Shore Open Space Park sits adjacent to the eight-block oceanfront natural area of North Shore Open Space Park (also pet-friendly for dogs on leashes) with jogging trails, exercise stations, and picnic pavilions. The park is only open for dogs Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 1:30pm to 5:30pm. The adjoining North Shore is a charming neighborhood filled with tropical mid-century modern buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places - which provides a great place to dry off with an evening stroll after your swim. A great place to explore old Miami Beach the way if used to be (without the hustle and bustle of South Beach). There are also a few great restaurants nearby with pet-friendly outdoor seating - our favorite is Burgers and Shakes at Collins and 74th Street.
