Bourkevale Park
Reviews
- KevinOct 23, 2018Small but fun! Good off-leash community!
This park is a favourite of ours especially in Winter!
NB The length of the park borders a riverbank - use appropriate caution for your Pooches.
Limited parking lot.
Groomed winter trail along river also makes for a great walk, too (I haven’t heard that city polices off-leash users on the river, but use discretion)
Excellent, (leashed) walking through adjacent riverside neighbourhood; follow walking path from park due West about 3 blocks to get to pedestrian bridge that crosses over the river to Assiniboine Park (City’s premier park has extensive trails and paved paths for on-leash use). - AmandaMore than a year agoTourist Road-trip Tip
If driving through Winnipeg on the #1 highway, then I'd suggest parking at Portage Ave (Hwy 1) and Ferry Rd. There's a laundromat and Tim Horton's (Canadian staple) coffee shop. So throw your clothes in the wash, grab a coffee and then take Fido for a five minute walk south on Ferry Road to the dog park at the end of the road. Enjoy your coffee with the friendly Manitoban fido and fido owners along the river bank. After collecting your laundry you can stop in the small, but reasonably priced, grocery store to restock the cooler, snack stash, and the fido treats. :) Welcome to Winnipeg!
