Halibut Point State Park
- JenDec. 14, 2021Great little spot!
This place has a great parking situation, visible trail markers and gorgeous sights. You could easily make a day of it in the warmer weather by packing a picnic. Highly recommend.

The park has a number of different trails to choose from. Out favorite trails are those that lead down to the bluffs looking out over the ocean! Have a blast climbing over the rocks down to the shoreline, but take safety precautions during high tide. The trails are also wide enough so that if you have a reactive pup, there’s more than enough room to pull over and allow other park goers to pass. There are also picnic areas if you want to make it a complete day trip. Just a great park to walk around and take in the views!

What a beautiful place. The trails are very easy, wide, and clean. The views are relaxing. I think we finished walking around in about an hour with sniff stoppage for the dogs. Dogs must be on leash and it’s carry in/ carry out although they had one bucket for dog bags towards the end (which was a little annoying). We went there around 9am and there were plenty of dogs around. If you get there later, parking might be harder as by 11 when we were leaving the lot was full. We headed to downtown Rockport after for lunch. Would recommend and will be back!

This is such a beautiful spot with lots of history. There were a lot of families walking their dogs. Ours had a blast climbing on the rocks and looking over the edge of the quarry. A definite must-visit if you are in the area.
