Dragoon Gulch Trail

The pet-friendly Dragoon Gulch Trail is located in the City of Sonora, Ca. Named for a group of dragoons (US Army cavalry soldiers) who once mined the area for gold, the existing trail network provides visitors with a unique opportunity stroll through the Mother Lode’s beautiful oak woodlands. The 2.5-mile loop trail travels along a natural creek up to a vista that provides a spectacular view of Sonora’s Historic Downtown along with the surrounding mountain ranges. The trails vary in difficulty making it the perfect location for both the causal walker and those eager for a strenuous hike. There two entrances with one designated ADA with parking area and paved trails. Leashed dogs are welcome on the trail. Visit Website

    Great Hike

This place is great! Nice trail - dirt, wide, well taken care of. Parking is weird. You park in a paved lot then walk across a creek and through a 7th Day Adventist retirement village. Just follow the oval signs painted on the road/sidewalk.

No maps of the trail at the park so use the one posted on BringFido app.

Good vista of Sonora at top.
