    Worth the drive!

You can’t beat the beaches on the Emerald Coast but not many allow dogs. This was a small area for the dogs however, it was on a great beach! We will be back.

    Small dog park

About 100' , must stay on leash. Waste of a drive. I thought we were going to play on the beach without hiding like we normally do.

    Clean beach!

It was a great place to take the dogs on an early morning to beat the crowd and the heat! very clean beach, majority of people picked up after themselves. It was small but enough space for us at the time we went (8am).

    Peaceful area

Much less busy than West beach & Oakley was able to explore a little more. We took some great photos around sunset and found so many pretty seashells.

    Eh.

Clean beach with great sand, but it’s super small and dogs have to stay on leash. Not big enough to take your dog for a walk.

Really wish I had read the reviews

I never leave reviews but I’m so frustrated I had to try to warn others. We Googled and found the “dog beach” and drove for hours here thinking there was at least 1 area I could exercise my pup. This isn’t a dog beach, this isn’t a dog park… this is nothing. I could underhand a tennis ball easily from
sign to sign. Everyone is standing there with their dogs on leash as the signs state not able to do anything. So mad and bummed we came here of all our options.

    Beautiful Beach!

this beach is beautiful! very clean and everyone was so friendly. I wish it was a bigger area, but I appreciate having anyplace we can go! the only thing that made me mad was out of the tiny bit of beach designated for dogs, their were fishermen that put their poles out in the dog area. out of the miles of beaches available to fish, why would you take up some of the beach that dogs are allowed on? that just seemed rude to me.

Nice area but you have to keep the dog on a leash

you have to keep the dog on a leash and that’s not easy. also there is a small area you can be with your dog so you can’t really walk on the beach ….. the island also that is at is very abandoned I didn’t like it at all

    Beautiful beach

Our lab/pit mix loved this beach! The sand was so beautiful and soft, it wasn’t very crowded on a Wednesday morning and the water was crystal clear. We drove from Fort Walton since their county doesn’t allow dogs on beaches. They provide dog waste bags and trash cans.

Great ocean side sandy DOG beach

Actual dog beach with blue ocean and sandy beaches. Plenty of room to play and swim and chase tennis balls with new four legged friends. Very clean and very short walk from parking spots. Bring water to drink as we didn’t find any close by to use. Friendly people and great waves!

    Lots of Fun

Not sure why so many people were griping about the size. No, it’s not huge, but there’s ample parking and enough room to let your pup explore the beach and the waves. My dog absolutely loved it.

    Great beach!

I can’t attest to what the last reviewer experienced but we had a very pleasant experience at this beach. It’s one of the first beaches after the Pensacola Beach toll. It was very spacious & lots of other dogs with us the day we were there. It’s definitely the beach to go to with your dogs & poo bags were provided in the parking lot.

Tiny, a joke, absolutely unworthy of any dog

I was disgusted and angered from, first of all, a Trusted Source like BringFido, hosting an advertisement for this LESS THAN 20 YARDS ACROSS "Dog Beach". The dog can't move in such a SMALL space! Cut the space in half with beach fisher cripples and retirees throwing sharp metal hooks into the water, you quickly get the feeling that dogs are NOT welcomed here!
We drove a long 7-hours to get to Pensacola, bringing our family (mini-schnauzer) and were solidly disappointed by the featureless, empty, scorched earth of fewer than 20 yards from side-to-side "dog beach".
Literally, you can read "NO DOGS! Passed this Point!" on both sides of the "Park" from one sign to the other. It's ridiculous. No bags were provided. Plenty of "No! this and that" signs everywhere. The only thing missing was a sign reading "You're not welcome here in Pensacola!" which was obvious by the offering.

    Better location

East park is far out but I liked it better than west. It also isn’t as crowded as west. Both are still small but overall I like east better.

    Great little slice of heaven

Gorgeous water and sand on this beach. it’s a little small, but there was plenty of room for those of us there. Our baby had a fantastic time!!

    A small slice of fun.

We came to pensacola specifically to give our elderly dog a vacation. He lost his swim loving mind at the dog beach. It's about half a football field of sand and shore between the two large signs, so theres enough room to camp out if thats your thing. Almost all the dogs were leashed, and everyone cleaned up after their animals. There are poop baggies available, but definitely bring your own

The water was a pretty bluish green and there were only minimal jellyfish. Will definitely come back if we are in the area. The beach is also close to a lot of dog friendly hotels and restaurants.

Covid review: most people were cool about keeping their distance, but a few dummies wanted to mingle. There were only a few groups of ~6. No masks, but we were outside and there was enough room to be like 10-20 ft apart.

    Best Dog Beach !!

I highly recommend Pensacola dog beach! Although it is not a large area, it is plenty of room to enjoy the beach with your fur babies. Very clean and beautiful!

    Small but good

We brought our pitbull and he had a great time. It’s very small though so lots of meeting other dogs and the sand smelled a little like urine.

    Dogs On Leash Only!

Beautiful area of beach; smaller than expected. I would loved to have been able to let my dog run unleashed.

    Beautiful beach!

We had a great time at this beautiful beach in Florida, however, it would be nice if a few amenities were added, such as a covered shade with picnic tables and a few showers.

    Insanely small area

Nice beach but wayyyyy too small, it's like a 150ft stretch of beach, we were 50 feet out of the signed area because it was crowded and a beach-goer came and yelled at us that we were out of the section and needed to move. We had our dog off leash for a little bit (shes insanely well behaved, I've done some intense training, and she's super lazy so she was just laying beside us doing nothing at the time) and another beach-goer yelled. So the people suck, and it's stupid small. Not worth the traffic to get here. What's the point of a leashed dog beach, especially if the area is so small that they can't walk? The dogs can't do anything like that. Too bad Jensen beach is so far away, it's the best.
So yeah, come here if you dont plan to walk along the beach (because it's too small and you can't leave the section apparently). If you want to sit and read, and have a bored, hot dog, then it's pretty scenery.

    Good beach for dogs

The beach is pretty isolated from the rest of the island, so not too many people were there. You do have to keep your pup on a leash, but they can still run around and swim in the ocean. There is a person who patrols the beach, so make sure to have your dog’s rabies vaccination tag. One star taken away because it’s a small area for dogs, but otherwise a really good place for some fun in the sun.
