- GiselaAug 2, 2022Not great for dogs
We stayed in the Canyon Lodge Cabins, which are dog friendly. Dogs aren’t allowed to be unattended in the cabin or car. Fortunately we had an RV with a generator. While we could walk Birdie around Lodge property, dogs are not allowed on most park trails, which I get. Bears, sulphide spewing springs, treacherous terrain, etc. after three days, we were still happy to have had her with us.

Pets may only accompany people in developed areas and must remain within 100 feet of roads, parking areas, and campgrounds.
Pets must be physically controlled at all times: they must be in a car, in a crate, or on a leash no more than six feet long.
Pets are not allowed on boardwalks, hiking trails, in the backcountry, or in thermal areas.
We were just driving through and stopped at Old Faithful. Dogs aren't able to go up close but we were able to get close enough for a photo op. I preferred to stay back from the crowds anyway.
