Pet fee
The Hibernation StationVery close to Yellowstone. Had a fee per pet per night, not great when traveling with multiple dogs. Certain cabins were pet-friendly, not all of them. Staff were not knowledgeable about where I could take my dogs. No designated dog potty area but the town is very walkable with grassy areas nearby.
Not the most dog-friendly national park but also not the least
Yellowstone National ParkPets may only accompany people in developed areas and must remain within 100 feet of roads, parking areas, and campgrounds.
Pets must be physically controlled at all times: they must be in a car, in a crate, or on a leash no more than six feet long.
Pets are not allowed on boardwalks, hiking trails, in the backcountry, or in thermal areas.
We were just driving through and stopped at Old Faithful. Dogs aren't able to go up close but we were able to get close enough for a photo op. I preferred to stay back from the crowds anyway.
Dog-friendly
La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Salt Lake City MidvaleNo pet fee, staff had dog treats waiting for us at check in, and there is a small grassy area with pet waste disposal stand. Area around the hotel is quite busy (there's a motel 6, gas station, mcdonald's, and denny's on the same corner) and not a ton of available space for walking the dogs.
