We are driving from CO to Michigan with 2 dogs. After 6-ish hours in the car, we needed to stop at an off-leash area so they could get some energy out!
This park is a great size. Has a separate area for under 25# dogs. We have a 5# and a 55# dog. Since the area was empty, we decided to take both into the area, fully prepared to leave with our big girl if someone else arrived.
Our two ladies were able to burn of some energy with a few runs from mom to mom.
Another dog arrived, we offered to move her to the other area.
They said we were welcome to stay as their Australian Shepherd is “probably over 25# too!”
The dogs ran around for a few more minutes then we got back on the road.
Can’t wait to see what other stops we can make along the way.The park was clean, didn’t see any signs of poop. There were quite a few tennis balls very evenly spaced. There is a fresh water fountain for the dogs, stocked poop bags and a broom for cleaning up if needed.
They have added a shade structure over one of the benches, so there is a spot to sit, out of the sun, and it has a paved sidewalk to it.
I would definitely visit the website ask the park has days where it is closed for events.

A great, sprawling dog park with friendly dog owners there during our visit. Water was off due to it being winter but several bowls and jugs of water that others had brought were there. About 10 min off the highway but there is tons of parking (more than they could possibly ever need) and worth the cruise.

One of the best dog parks we were at while on vacation. Dogs loved it!
- JeneneSep 29, 2018Great fenced dog park!
This nice dog park has 3 separate fenced areas, all nicely mowed with no muddy areas.. When we were there, 2 areas were closed for maintenance and construction Each fenced area is plenty big enough for any dog to run and romp. There are seats for humans and water for humans and dogs. They provide poop bags and trash can. There was even a container of tennis balls at the gate should your dog be inclined to fetch! (Hopefully humans will return the ball's to the container!). No water available in winter months. The first time we went was at night and there was lighting at the front entrance, enough to see your way in but you'll need a flashlight at night so you can see where your pet leaves its little present for you to pick up. The dog park is easy to find because it's at the foot of the water tower on Markley Road.

I love that pit bulls are not aloud because my beagle and mutt don't get along with pit bulls. It is a great that they have a small pool for dog to lay in, and a bunch of toys. 🙂

It's sad that people who are supposed to love animals are discriminatory against Pitbulls simply because of a stereotype.

I was pleased to have someplace my dog could run around. The area was all grass and had lots of toys for the dogs to play on. We were traveling through and appreciated the fenced park.

We stopped early on our way out of town to let our dog run a bit. It was perfect for that. It was too early for other dogs but there was plenty of room to run and many toys to play with.

Our dog Ivy loved the park. She ran the fence with one of the shelter dogs on the other side, tried out the knotted rope tied to a small tire, ran through the tunnel and up and down the ramp. Shelter staff were very friendly. We wish the Salina Shelter well.

We stopped in during a cross-country drive. The Park is in an industrial part of town, and located behind the Shelter. Standard dog park amenities, with plenty of room to run. Great stop over!
