Shawnee Mission Off Leash Dog Park Shawnee Mission Off Leash Dog Park is a pet-friendly recreation area in Shawnee. Located east of the observation tower on John Barkley Drive, the 53-acre off-leash area features a dog swim area along with wood chip and natural surface trails through grassland and wooded areas. The off-leash area also includes paved parking and portable toilets. The area is open year-round during regular park hours every day of the week from 6am to 8pm, except Tuesdays from 5am to 9pm for routine maintenance. See Details

Heritage Park The Heritage Park Dog Off-Leash Area is a great spot for your canine to enjoy! It is a 30-acre area with a fenced open space and a small pond. The off-leash area is accessible from all entrances of the park but is closest to the entrance at 16240 Lackman Road Please note that weekly maintenance closures are in effect. Maintenance will be scheduled for Tuesdays from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Closures are intended to allow for a higher level of maintenance to the area without compromising dog and patron safety. Wyandotte County Lake Park Trails Starting right before Shelter 9 in a large wooded area on the east side of the lake, you will find the trailhead for the WyCo Single Track Trail. From the trailhead there are several options for trails, all interconnect with each other at points along the way and eventually loop back to the beginning. The trails are well marked and you'll find multiple maps along the way so you don't get lost. This is a popular fishing, picnic, and biking area so you will encounter much of this as you walk the trail around the lake. Most of the trails are hard-packed dirt, but several sections are gravel and/or rocks. On the West side of the park there is an area for dogs. See Details

Boulevard Drive-In Theatre Well-behaved, leashed pets are welcome to join the humans at the drive-in. Boulevard Drive-In Theatre shows a double feature of first run movies every weekend from April through October. The drive-in also hosts a Swap 'n' Shop outdoor flea market on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year. Just bring cash to the drive-in because credit cards are not accepted. See Details
Shawnee Mission Park Shawnee Mission Park, a multi-use, 1,600-acre park is located at 79th and Renner Road in Shawnee, Kansas. It is the largest park in the county and the most visited park in the entire state of Kansas. Its 53-acre off-leash dog park, one of the largest in the country, has hiking trails, large open spaces and a 200-foot dog beach. The park is also home to a number of fantastic amenities such as a beautiful 120-acre lake that's great for boating, fishing, sail boarding, and much more. There are 11 spacious shelters, numerous picnic areas, nature trails, play areas, an archery range, a disc golf course, and trails to enjoy mountain biking and horseback riding. The park is also home to The Theatre in the Park, Shawnee Mission Park Beach, and Shawnee Mission Park Marina. In season, there are canoes, pedal boats, and fishing boats available for rent at the marina. See Details

Mill Creek Streamway Park The Mill Creek Streamway Park is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors. Previously an unused railroad corridor, this "rail-trail" is now a great place to walk Fido in Lenexa! The map below shows a parking area with convenient access to the Mill Creek Streamway Park.
