The only thing this place is missing is an off-leash dog park. Otherwise, welcome to dogs inside and out with available treats for your pooch.

amazing service and so dog friendly! the staff even gave us extra ice for our poodle puppy’s water bowl on a hot day.
- IanOct 9, 2019Friendly and welcoming
The dog enjoyed his dog ice cream while we did the tasting; dogs are allowed inside although a lot of the tables are marked 'no dogs'. It is possible to have a snack inside with a dog. The wines are OK, a few are quite good, but they are highly priced and inflated by $5 a bottle which you get back on a gift card for the next visit; a fairly obvious ploy to push up prices for one time visitors.

We had so much fun! There’s wine tasting for the adults, a place to play for the kids, and of course they serve dog gelato for Fido! There were tons of other dogs and we could take our dog with us wherever we went (inside or out). Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

This whole winery is dog-themed, and in the summer they have doggie events. Dogs are allowed in the tasting room and outdoors. Their wines are excellent and they usually have a food truck around. They can get INSANELY crowded, though, so if your pup needs a quieter venue, try Naked Mountain down the street!

Discriminate towards a disabled person in front of my own eyes as well as other patrons. I couldn't believe it! They consider themselves dog friendly yet the person they discriminate against had a service dog?? Doesn't seem right. Won't be returning.

Virginia is just not very dog-friendly when it comes to beaches or businesses. But BOW is! Maybe it's because the owners are from California, where dogs can chill on beaches and shop in Bloomingdale. I travel at least an hour to BOW, and my dog loves that he can be in the tasting room and meet other dog friends. I read on their website they are planning an enclosed dog park on their grounds. Such a fun place to be!

We live 20 minutes from BOW (Barrel Oak Winery). They are the most dog friendly business I've been to. Our Boston Terrier, Odin, goes with us all the time. Some wineries "allow" dogs on the grounds, not good enough for BOW, dogs are allowed inside, on the wine patio -- everywhere! Plus, BOW encourages people to bring their own picnic and enjoy wine tasting (small fee but there are coupons on-line) and music many days/evenings. We go to BOW a lot on a lazy Sunday afternoon -- pack a picnic and bring the fur-baby!! (Kids are welcome, too!)... It is always fun!!
