love this park, but some unsavory characters at times with foul behaving dogs

the only reason it got 2/5 bones is because my dog LOVES the lake swimming area.
I on the hand dislike this park so much! the smell is awful. it smells like dog pee, like they don’t take care of the park. there is not much of an area to play, most of the park is gravel walking area to get to and from the swimming spot. the swimming area is only 1 pretty small area with so many people that are always there. always a few dogs that constantly try to take my dogs balls she tries to fetch in the water and owners that don’t care.
and the parking.... no signs to tell you where to go so you have to figure it out on your own. - JessicaSep 15, 2020Crime Area
The actual dog park is okay. Lots of space for your dog to just run/explore. But the park as whole is so I kept!
AND it’s a huge crime spot! 4 cars were broken into, including my boyfriends truck within an hour of being there!
Will never go back there sadly! 😢 - MichelleAug 1, 2019What a great dog park!
i read a lot of these reviews... it's a great dog park. There is a small beach area that had a lot of dogs and people wading when I was there. Everyone (dogs and people) were very friendly. I parked by the people area and walked my dogs on leash a little while before finding the park. While it was not easy to locate the first time, after walking through whole park, I saw the big parking area on the other side, not near the water. So maybe its just my GPS that was the issue.
All in all, this was a great park. PLace to swim and then a good walk down some fenced in paths to the larger dog and even the small dog park areas. The large dog park area was HUGE. Even the small dog park area was large compared to others I've seen. Don't listen to the bad reviews. Go here. You won't regret it.

I'd heard so much hype about how great this place was - what a disaster....
First there was no signage to tell you where the place was, I ended up on the wrong side of the park closest to the Lake and a very desolate abandoned- looking area overgrown with blackberries. I passed the Fin art - so if you see that - RUN AWAY ! Walked quite awhile & finally found a fence - no signage for pedestrians.... but I could hear dogs, so I figured I was close. Finally found a gate and asked a few people about the beach -
Its AN ERROR to post this as A BEACH FOR OFF LEASH. Its about 30 ft of waterfront and its dominated by ill mannered large exuberant dogs with owners who can't control them. I have 2 small dogs, we were mobbed by the big dogs until I physically picked my 2 up and tried to move away... well then its a weird gate system - no direction, no potty stations, etc.. I was asking myself " THIS is the best dog park we have? Are you serious?"
Someone finally noticed my distress & advised me that the small dog area was on the other side - they couldn't say how far. I packed up, went back to my car which was now 1 of 4 vehicles broken into.
But lets say I was just having a bad day ....
I tried a second time, found the side of the park with a small dog area - and the disappointment hits again - its not much bigger than my apartment living room. No water station, 1 bench, no cover. Its probably an OK park for large robust dogs, but its an EPIC FAIL for my 2 terriers who need a small dog area to actually RUN AROUND. If you have a tea cup sized dog, it'll be an adequate large play pen. It's not going to offer any exercise benefit for small/timid breeds - don't waste your time.
In fact I'd call this area *Dangerous for you & your dog* in general - HIGH CRIME area - be prepared to be broken into & then fend off large breed dogs with owners who can't seem to control their dogs.

A perfect location to let your dog play off leash and swim in Lake Washington. Lots of open space and even a doggy food truck for special treats!

Full five "bones" for this beautiful park with beach access and so much more to offer people and dogs alike.

Whidbey Island has Double Bluff off leash dog park that IS a beach - and a beautiful one.

This park is amazing. It is unique in being a wild life reserve while still making space for dogs. Huge fields for running, fetching, wrestling, water access in several locations, and trails. Besides the normal outliers, the dogs and owners are friendly and safe. Remember to pick up your poo and it will be a great time! Perfect for dogs of all sizes.

My Shih-tzu, Miss Scarlett, loved this park!!! Lots of friendly dogs and a large small dog area with lots of grass.
- LibbylooMore than a year agoThe best!
We love this park! It has so much to offer as the other reviews have mentioned. The small dog area is quite large and there always seem to be well behaved pups in there ready to play.
*we've been coming for years and only recently discovered the adjacent "on-leash" park outside of the actual fenced in dog park. Perfect if you're wanting even more exercise or if your dog needs some downtime away from the other dogs. The adjacent park offers trails along lake washington, a kite park, and lots more. Wonderful park all around to explore!

Edmonds has a terrific dog park with beach access about a half mile south of the ferry terminal

This park is great! We end up going a couple times a week because the dogs have such a great time. We love to have a leisurely off-leash walk with our dogs on the way to the lake to grab a drink. There is plenty of room to play in the large open areas and the walkway is wide enough to allow respectful passing of dogs that are coming and going.

Very open park and ready for your dogs to run around. Every part of the park is fenced in so no worries about your dog running away.

I went to the Pug Gala initially last saturday and ended up spending all afternoon at this wonderful dog park. I have never seen such a large dog park; seperated into 3-4 areas with trails and water and picnic areas. My pug and I especially enjoyed the small dog area! SP

This is such a fun park, my dog first put her paws in water here. There is lots of space - a big field if you want to just throw a ball, a trail if you want to walk with your dog off-leash and lake access for dogs who like to swim. There is also a smaller gated area for shy/small dogs.

This is truly a great dog park! Seattle has a few others but this one provides a shoreline for your pooch to take a dip in the water. It is enormous so your energetic pup can stretch his legs. Not much shade but plenty of room to run!
