Reviews
Visitors generally enjoyed the scenic beauty of Saguaro National Park, though some noted concerns about the abundance of cacti and lack of dog-friendly hiking trails. They found the park's dog-friendly policies to be limited, with only a few short paved trails allowed for leashed pets.

There are 2 entrances to Saguaro National Forest. One on the West side of the park and one one the East (Rincon and Visitor Center). I only went in the East entrance this trip. There is a dog trail-The Mica Trail which is dirt and fairly wide. I saw a person in a wheelchair and also a stroller on it. It is .7 miles out and back. There were doggie bags at the start. The park ranger at the entrance said that dogs can be walked on any roads as long as they are leashed and you pick up after them. Beautiful park. From the comments above, it prob would be best to use the East Entrance. The loop road is dirt and had some potholes. I was told the younger saguaro cacti are accessed from the west entrance.

Dogs are allowed on any road and two small hikes. The road to one of the hikes is dirt so I walked the pups along that which was nice! Beautiful park but make sure to keep a close eye on your dogs - one of mine got quite a few needles in his shoulder from just barely walking off the road.

Visiting saguaro with my doods makes me so nervous! there are obviously cacti everywhere but we also encountered a rattler on the trail. there are only 2 paved trails and they get HOT! so make sure your dog has booties.

I love this park and its desert beauty but bringing my pup deff gives me anxiety with all the prickly cactus everywhere...you can bring your dogs on any of the hikes but there are only 2 paved ones

This park was beautiful and the landscape with the cacti was awesome. The scenic drives in the different park sections were fun but there are only two hikes dogs are allowed on. They are both paved nature trails that are less than a half mile. It’s is a beautiful park but not really for dogs.
