Hood River Waterfront Trail
The Hood River Waterfront Trail is a 2.8-mile, dog-friendly paved trail that connects the Hook on the west side of the Hood River, OR waterfront to the Best Western Hotel on the east side. One of the easier hikes in the area, it's a great way to see the river up close and keep Fido's toenails short with a wander on the pavement. Just off the trail is The Spit, a 40-acre sandbar at the confluence of the Hood and Columbia rivers. It's hugely popular among dogs who like to roam off leash.
