Tamanawas Falls Tamanawas Falls is a wonderful pet-friendly hike whatever the time of year. Located off Oregon Highway 35 in the Mt. Hood National Forest, this snowy 3.5-mile loop takes in Tamanawas Falls, where the water forms a broad curtain from Cold Spring Creek that pours over a lava cliff near the eastern base of Mount Hood. Hood River Waterfront Trail The Hood River Waterfront Trail is a 2.8 mile, dog-friendly paved trail that connects the Hook on the west side of Hood River waterfront to the Best Western Hotel on the east side. One of the easier hikes in the area, it's a great way to see the river up close, and keep Fido's toe nails short with a wander on the pavement. Just off the trail is The Spit, a 40-acre sandbar at the confluence of the Hood and Columbia rivers. It's hugely popular among dogs who like to roam off-leash. To get there, walk toward the pedestrian bridge that crosses the Hood River and head north on the gravel road on the west side of the bridge. See Details

Dog Mountain Trail Hiking the dog-friendly, 6-mile Dog Mountain Trail in Cook, WA, is a great way to spend some quality time with your pup. There is also a 1-mile loop trail to the summit that provides an excellent opportunity to view the western portion of the Columbia River Gorge. Choose the eastern trail for an easier climb through wildflower fields or the western trail for a more strenuous climb through dense forests.
