Dogs are welcome at Colt Creek State Park. This park is 5,000 acres of native Central Florida habitat, including longleaf pine flatwoods, lakes and winding creeks, and thick cypress domes and open vistas. Fido can make friends, at a distance, with some endangered species in the park as well, such as the gopher tortoise and the Sherman’s fox squirrel. There are 15 miles of multi-use trails at the park for you and Fido to explore the interesting wildlife and habitat. Colt Creek State Park is open every day of the week from 8am until sunset. The fee for entrance into this park is $4 per vehicle.
