Fort Harrison State Park

Fort Harrison State Park is dog-friendly. Formerly the site of Fort Benjamin Harrison, the park features a Citizen's Military Training Camp, Civilian Conservation Corps camp and a World War II prisoner of war camp. As well as being a wander back through time, there are plenty of trails you can actually wander with Fido to enjoy the natural beauty of the park. Pups are welcome on all of the trails, as long as they are on a leash under six feet and you clean up any mess after them. Visit Website

    Fort Harrison Dog Park

We just spent three-days in Indy. We went everyday to the dog park that is associated with Fort Harrison. You need a membership or you can purchase a 7-day pass with proof of vaccinations. Our dog Wally loved all three parks (they are all at the same place) but especially the one with the beach and dog swimming pond. This is a must do if traveling near Indy!!

    Nice hiking!

Fort Harrison is a great place to go hiking not too far from Indy! There are trails of varying difficulty, and a nice paved pathway as well if you or your dog cannot do unpaved walkways. I'm definitely looking forward to taking my dog back for a hike in the future.
