Fontainebleau State Park
Fontainebleau State Park in Mandeville, LA is dog friendly. Formerly the location of a sugar plantation in the mid-19th century, this 2,800-acre park can be found on the pretty shore of Lake Pontchartrain. There are a couple of trails dotted around the park including a 4.8-mile hiking trail which you can explore with your leashed dog. For a shorter walk, the nature trail is beautiful and bordered on three sides by Lake Pontchartrain, Bayou Cane, and Bayou Castine. Dogs must be leashed and cleaned up after. Please note the beach and water area is not pet friendly.

Do they allow dogs in the cabins at Fountainbleu state park?Asked by

Canine Concierge AnswerDogs are permitted to stay in one of the four designated deluxe pet-friendly cabins at Fontainebleau State Park. A surcharge of $40 per pet, per stay, applies, with a maximum of two dogs per cabin.
