Fontainebleau State Park
Fontainebleau State Park in Mandeville, LA is dog friendly. Formerly the location of a sugar plantation in the mid-19th century, this 2,800-acre park can be found on the pretty shore of Lake Pontchartrain. There are a couple of trails dotted around the park including a 4.8-mile hiking trail which you can explore with your leashed dog. For a shorter walk, the nature trail is beautiful and bordered on three sides by Lake Pontchartrain, Bayou Cane, and Bayou Castine. Dogs must be leashed and cleaned up after.
