South Mountain State Battlefield
South Mountain State Battlefield is a pet-friendly attraction in Middletown. This park commemorates the battleground where the first major Civil War battle took place in Maryland. Located along the gaps of South Mountain, you and your leashed pup can jump on the Appalachian Trail and check out the only place in the country where it intersects with a battleground. The rest of the park is made up of diverse farm and forestland.
