Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center
Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center is pet-friendly. Located approximately 10 minutes from Smyrna, this 16,000 acre national wildlife refuge along the Delaware Bay. It was established in 1937 as a refuge for migratory birds and other wildlife including red foxes, otters, beavers and deer. Dogs are welcome at Bombay Hook as long as they remain leashed and are well-behaved around wildlife. There are several, short trails leading to observation towers that look out onto the salt marshes that are dog-friendly. The area can be accessed from half an hour before sunrise to half an hour after sunset.
