  This park has so much to offer

  Ruby has loved this park for 2 years now. She has made many friends and has walked all there beautiful trails. The lakeside is her favorite. You do need to sign up your dog to enter with updated vaccination and 20 dollars a year fee,but well worth it. People are friendly and interesting.

  Well kept. maintenance done every Tuesday from 8 to 10 am. the staff does a wonderful job on the up keep of this whole entire park.

  Not the same

  I’ve been coming to barkham my entire life but within the past couple years things have changed. More fights have been happening, the people are pushy and rude, they discriminate against dog breeds, and they charge a lot. Not only do you have to pay to enter Markham park itself (per person and per dog) but you have to pay to enter the dog park. In order to get into the dog park you need a pass which you must buy from the office.. the dogs are not allowed in the office however. Just outside the dog park gate there is a large sign posted discriminating against a list of “aggressive” dog breeds and mixes. It states that they must be kept muzzled and on leash… AT AN OFFLEASH DOG PARK!! On top of that, the dog park goers are unbearable, constantly pushing their fad dog diets and politics on you. They don’t pick up after their dogs or even watch them really because the dogs get into fights and no owners come rushing to break it up. My dog got attacked by a couple dogs and the owner of the other dogs just stood there smiling. If you are a looking for a good, free dog park nearby I would suggest Steven L. Josias

  Great local park

  This is my dogs fav spot close to home. Its clean and has a large fenced in area for large and small dogs. There is a lake behind it that is always full of iguana's and my dog goes crazy watching them. You do have to get a pass but I'm ok with it because it means that they maintain it clean and every pet has had their vsccines.

  We drove all the way out here only to find that you have to have a pass to enter.

  The dog park is all fenced in. Gators can't get in it besides the gators are not walking around. The gators stay in the water.

  Good luck finding water in FL THAT DOESNT HAVE GATORS. NOTHING TO FEAR BUT KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR DOG.

  Small dog section

  I usually go there on the weekends with my little ones. Usually everyone there keeps an eye on thier fido but once in a while there is an owner that is more into socializing themselves then thier dog. Lately I have noticed a lot of new people and some extra piles building up. If I see someones dog going potty I just point it out and I expect the same if it was one of mine. I wish they had a few more agility props there. My little one loves to use them. The only thing I ask is if your dog is causing problems and starting fights you should be correcting that behavior and not ignoring it. Why should the people with the calm dogs have to deal with your out of control pet? Sign up for a training class somewhere or take your pet for a short walk before bring him or her in... that would be very helpful.

  guy above me is retarded... your in south florida of course there is gators. Supervision is key, which you should be doing all the time btw. but gators will not just approach and attack. anyways, the park is beautiful and a great natural protected area :] .

  Great Open Park

  I was nervous taking my 8 month old Lab Chow, but I finally did last weekend and we have been back 3 times since. Friendly people, Friendly Dogs. I did see some piles of dog poop, but when I and the others that were there cleaned up after our dogs.

  GATORS

  Can't say much because I haven't taken my dog. Just a friendly warning...... GATORS, GATORS, GATORS. If you look at a map, this park borders the Florida Everglades. Many have told me they see gators in the lakes from time to time. I refuse to take my child to a bar-b-que to this park, and I keep more of an eye on him than I do my dog. What do you think?

  Beautiful park but no one picked up their POO

  This is a such a beautiful park. It's a shame that NO ONE picked up after their dogs. Their was poop everywhere!
