    One of my least favorite

We travel with our dogs so are always on the lookout for dog parks and this is one of the worst. Dirty, rocky, no trash bins or poop bags. no wonder there is dog poop all over. Parking is on the street unless you are walking up Centennial Park and then it is an uphill walk and crossing a busy street. Although it is larger this reminded me of truck stop “dog parks”. I’m only giving it 2 bones because of its size and it does have water (on a muddy patch of concrete).

    Ugh

what a disappointment. they must’ve got a lot of rain recently because the dog park was a big washed out muddy mess. it also stinks like crap. I know it’s a dog park so of course there will be dog crap but it was really bad. hoping to find a better one in the area to let my pup get some runtime

If you park in the free, public lot the address mentioned takes you to, you have to walk through the monuments, up a steep hill, cross a fairly busy street, and finish walking up the steepest part of the hill. There were great monuments to see on the way. Once in the enclosed area, my dogs LOVED the space to run and interact with all the other dogs there. Pet owners seemed attentive for the most part. I did not see a lot of people picking up after their dogs as they ran freely. The dog fountain was not operative due to the season so bring water in the cold months. The large hill and loose rocks presented a slight safety concern when the packs chased each other around. Overall, I was really impressed with this park.

    Nice walk. Beautiful photo ops

We walked the park after attending a Crafts Fair. It was a pleasant walk with both trails and woody areas. No problems with other dogs. We enjoyed our day.

    Great Dog Park

The small dog park is disappointing. But the big dog park is awesome. Lots of room to run with nice people

Actual Park: Yes! Dog Park: Ehh

So we spent most of our time at the actual Centennial Park in Nash... 1) because that park is huge and gorgeous and 2) the dog park was hard to find at first.
The regular park is a great place for dogs, just bring a pop up water bowl and a towel to sit on!

The dog park was hard to get to because it sits on a hill. The whole park sits at a slant. So wear some good shoes. It’s also all dirt.... so expect some dirty pups.

Great Location, Not My Favorite Though

If you live in the West End area of Nashville, it is in a convenient location to take your dog for some off-leash and socialization time. However, the park is on an incline and gets extremely muddy after rainfall due to the large amount of dirt.

    Just OK

Small dog park is on a steep hill, is 1/2 dirt (mud) and on the small side.

    Watch out!

We went to Centennial for the first time today and we won’t be returning. 2 minutes being there and my puppy was charged at and then snapped at by 4 growling dogs. I had to get in the middle and snatch my whimpering dog up before it continued.
Also, a lot of the grounds is dirt so know you will be leaving there with a dusty or muddy dog.
Finally, it’s not very clean. We were dodging poop piles like crazy.
Some people may really enjoy this park. It’s definitely not for us.

    Can be dangerous...

I used to take my dog to Centennial because it was super convenient. But every time I went it seemed that there were a couple of aggressive dogs there whose owners didn’t watch them properly. The final straw for me was when I saw a dog break its leg at the park when it was tackled by another dog because it was trapped in all the exposed tree roots. I’ve never gone back since.

hard to find but worth it

Awesome park. Lots of playful dogs and nice people. If you get on 31 st near Parthenon you can see it on the hill surrounded by fence.

Great park in the heart of the city

This dog park was the first place we stopped when we got into Nashville. It's large and seems like it always draws a crowd, so your dog will have a buddy. I think the best part about this park is its proximity to the Parthenon. You can see it from the park, and it's only about a 5 minute walk!

    SOOOO hot, nice park

I'm only giving 4 stars instead of 5 because the few days we were in Nashville it was insanely hot. This park was a wonderful spot to let our dog explore a bit...they had water and poop bags too! It was a bit dusty but overall a nice big fenced in place.

    downtown dog park

This is an excellent fenced dog park that has separate areas for large and small dogs. The large dog area is HUGE! There is a drinking fountain for humans and dogs! Benches, shade and lots of tennis balls lying around! What more could you ask for? Very well maintained. No membership needed :)

    Amazing park!

We were visiting from out of town and used the BringFido app to find a dog park. This is the best dog park we've been to. Many of the dogs were friendly. Our dog Zoey, who loves to be chased, raced around the park followed by at least ten other dogs. The park was quite busy, but everyone was very friendly and the dogs could socialize more. There were hundreds of tennis balls to play fetch with and overall we had a wonderful time!

    separate dog areas

I go to the this park often with my dog. I love that this park has two separate areas ... one for small dogs and one for large dogs. It is hard to find, as I went to the big dog park first and then learned about the small dog park. My dog loves it.

    A Nice Option

It was hard to find as we kept looking at the actual Centennial Park area - it's on the other side of the road across from the park. There were a lot of tennis balls available but not a lot of running room as its on a slant of a hill. It's a nice option to have for your dog to get off the leash.

    GREAT BIG DOG PARK

Not only is the park big and clean, but the dogs are nice and so are their owners. There is even a puppy water fountain.

    Carol-

The dog park is free! No need to sign up or pay any money. There might be a pit restriction, but I think that's just for the Warner Dog Park (to be honest, any breed restriction is ridiculous, owners make bad dogs bad, NOT a dog's breed).
Anyways, this dog park is pretty good. Plenty of shade on hot summer days and water for the dogs and benches for the people. My only complaint is that because it's on a hill, there's really not much descent space for dogs to play thoroughly like they would on a flatter surface they often end up just milling around in a small area of the otherwise big fenced-in area.

    Great Dog Park

This dog park is without a doubt the new champion. Using the Bring Fido app in our drive across country has been a life saver. We have found amazing dog parks the entire way across the country. Without a doubt this is the best that I have seen though. They have toys to include balls that are provided for the dogs to play with. There is a dog track through the plush forest layout that you can walk your dogs around, or there is a HUGE fenced in area that you can let your dogs play in. The park appears to be in a really nice part of town, and seems to be pretty busy. Without a doubt I highly recommend.

    great park!

I've lived in Nashville just over a year. Our 10 month old Lab mix loves this dog park! THere is now a website for the dog park which should help with directions...THere are free bags for clean up, and a water fountain for the dogs..large treed park that is maintained by volunteers there is a heavy wood chip base that keeps the most popular areas free of mud..Weekends can be very busy!...the small dog area is just out the far gate and down the sidewalk...there is paved parking lots for both the small and large park but arent visible from the street ,...very friendly crowd ..

    Great Dog Park!

It is a little hard to find but definately worth the time to find it. It is on the far west side of the park past 31st ave. It's a nice park with a walking path around it, doggy water fountains, and penty of shady spots and seating. Didn't see a seperate area for small dogs though. Very popular spot so make sure your dog plays well with others!

    Couldn't find the Dog Park

This was a beautiful park! Its very large with multiple recreation areas. However, we couldn't find the actual dog park. There were no signs pointing us in the right direction. We even asked some people in the park and they had heard that there was a dog park but had no idea where it was. Our dogs were really looking forward to some off-leash play time after a long 15 hour drive. But, still this was a nice stop at the end of the day. We were there over Labor Day weekend and got to enjoy a nice walk with the dogs and some of the holiday festivities that were going on.
