Apple Valley Mountain Village General Store The General Store at Apple Valley Mountain Village is pet-friendly. This popular country store offers visitors the chance to peruse the aisles of traditional produce, including jams, jellies, preserves, and honey butters. There are 10,000 new items available, an all new t-shirt room, and lots of games, shirts, toys, and hundreds of stuffed animals for kids. Their produce includes homemade fudge made fresh. Fido won't be left out while you're shopping, they even have an entire dog and pet section so they can take home a souvenir too. While you're there, you can take Fido for a walk on the 10 mile bike & walking path that’s winds through the little mountain town, circles under the highway and ends up back to the store. Appalachian Caverns Friendly, leashed dogs are welcome on tours and in the gift shop at Appalachian Caverns in Blountville, TN. The regular walking tour is approximately one hour and 0.5-mile in length. There are three other in depth tours that must be scheduled in advance. When you arrive, please alert the staff at the gift shop before unloading your dog. They will secure the resident cave dog Jeffrey. He is friendly, but can overwhelm some canine guests. Trixie is another dog you may encounter, but she prefers to be left alone on her stack of comfy bedding. See Details
Gatlinburg Trail The Gatlinburg Trail is one of only two pet-friendly trails in the Great Smoky Mountains in Gatlinburg, TN. The trail is nearly two miles long one-way. It is quite flat and runs through a forested area. The trail offers nice views of the Little Pigeon River, and it runs over a bridge as well. Cades Cove Loop Road Located approximately 27 miles outside of Gatlinburg, near the town of Townsend, TN, beautiful Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains offers a variety of dog-friendly hiking trails and wildlife viewing opportunities. You can take Fido along for a scenic drive on Cades Cove Loop Road, an 11-mile stretch of roadway through the Smoky Mountain valley. Due to its location, you'll almost certainly see deer in Cades Cove. If you're lucky, you might even spot a bear, fox, or wild turkey. Dogs must remain in vehicles. See Details
