Great Smoky Mountains National Park The Great Smoky Mountains National Park offers two trails that are dog-friendly: Gatlinburg Trail (a 1.9 mile hike from the Sugarland Visitor Center to the outskirts of Gatlinburg, TN) and the Oconaluftee River Trail (a 1.5 mile hike from the Oconaluftee Visitor Center to the outskirts of Cherokee, NC). Please note that dogs are not permitted on any other trails within the park. Dogs are allowed in the campgrounds, picnic areas, and along roads, but must be kept on a leash at all times. As with most parks, your pets should be well-behaved and you should always clean up after them. See Details
Pet Friendly Doggywood at Dollywood
Doggywood at Dollywood Although dogs are not allowed in the Dollywood amusement park, visitors traveling to the Smoky Mountains with their dogs can leave Fido at Dollywood's very own kennel, Doggywood, for the day while they visit the park. The kennel even has a few individual cottages for dogs needing a little extra privacy. Due to space limitations, it is extremely important that you call in advance for reservations on the day you plan to visit the park. Dogs cannot be accommodated overnight. See Details

You can take Fido along for a scenic drive on Cades Cove Loop Road, an 11 mile stretch of roadway through the Smoky Mountain valley. Centennial Dog Park Your pet will go wild for the chance to play off-leash at this fenced dog park, which includes a separate small dog area. Dogs must be vaccinated and licensed. One for small dogs (30 lbs and under) and one for dogs of any size. The small dog park has lots of grass and mulch to keep your pup's feet comfy. There are benches and lots of space for small dogs to run around without getting harassed by the big dogs. The "all sizes" area has lots of grass, benches, and a mulch walking trail.
