Doggywood at Dollywood

Although dogs are not allowed in the Dollywood amusement park, visitors traveling to the Smoky Mountains with their dogs can leave Fido at Dollywood's very own kennel, Doggywood, for the day while they visit the park. The kennel even has a few individual cottages for dogs needing a little extra privacy. Due to space limitations, it is extremely important that you call in advance for reservations on the day you plan to visit the park. Dogs cannot be accommodated overnight.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is home to over 800 miles of hiking trails, but take note that dogs are NOT allowed on most of them. They are welcome on the Gatlinburg Trail (a 1.9 mile hike from the Sugarland Visitor Center to the outskirts of Gatlinburg, TN) and the Oconaluftee River Trail (a 1.5 mile hike from the Oconaluftee Visitor Center to the outskirts of Cherokee, NC). Dogs are also allowed in the campgrounds, picnic areas, and along roads, but must be kept on a leash at all times. As with most parks, your pets should be well-behaved and you should always clean up after them.

The Village Shops

Located next to the famous Pancake Pantry and Ole Smoky Candy Kitchen, The Village is a collection of 27 unique specialty stores in the heart of Gatlinburg, TN. The wooded outdoor areas around the shops are great for taking Fido for a stroll. Be sure to stop by the Simply Animals store to pick up a toy or treat for your pet. Dogs should remain leashed and under your control at all times while roaming through The Village.

Gatlinburg Sky Lift

The Gatlinburg Sky Lift allows dogs to ride with their owners to the top of the mountain.

Smoky Mountain River Rat

Looking for the dog-friendly best tubing and kayaking in Townsend Tennessee? You've just found it. Smoky Mountain River Rat offers river tubing and kayaking on the Beautiful Little River. River Rat is pet friendly, so go ahead and bring the family dog and make sure no family member misses out on this River adventure.

Smoky Mtn. Flea Market

Indoor outdoor giant flea market. They allow dogs on leashes outside but must be in a dog stroller inside. I actually bought a dog stroller so we could do both inside and outside with ease. Great place to take your companion.

Sevierville’s PetSafe Unleashed Dog Park

Bring Fido to play off-leash at this fully-fenced dog park located within Sevierville City Park. Features include separate small and large dog areas, dog wash station, and agility equipment. Owners should clean up after their dogs and follow all posted rules. The park is open daily.
