    Favorite Dog Park

The park is split into two: One for small and one for larger dogs. Some parts of the large breed park can flood during high tide or after heavy rains. The park is guarded, but the guard also covers the nearby Springfield Park and is not always at the dog park. Dog waste bags are not always available. Bring your own. The park is open sunrise-dawn. There is plenty of parking available.

    Park was closed for construction.

Park was closed for construction. We would not have stayed anyway due to the neighborhood. Industrial and homeless population. Did not feel safe.

    Good Dog Park

I was impressed with how much room the dogs had to play. The large dog park had plenty of room for the pups to run and play. There are water bowls, hoses, and kiddie pools for the dogs. My only complaint is how much dirt there is: when it rains, expect your dog to get really muddy.

    Homeless center of Duvall county

For your sake and the safety of your family and dog, avoid this area at all cost. War zone, drugs, homeless thugs, JUST STAY AWAY. THIS AREA WAS SCARY AT 11 IN THE MORNING.

    This place is awful

Yes, it is the middle of November but I expected at least a little bit more. The park was dirty and not maintained. Trash everywhere. Grass and pathways totally flooded and it hadn't even rained in the last few days. Nothing impressive at all about this place. And in the dumpiest, scariest part of town. I was honestly jealous of the kids play area because that was the only decent about the area.

    Awesome

Wow. This place is what I was looking for on a dog park! Fresh water, plenty of running room, friendly people and figs, and the best of all it's FREE ! No membership like most places.

My dog and I had enjoyed the park until 3 weeks ago when my 3-legged 48pd dog was attacked by a 120pd irish wolfhound and then the owner of this dog instead of grabbing their dog dragged my dog across the park.Maybe the tax dollars can be used for security and safety of all.

Great dog park, not so great neighborhood

This is a very nice dog park. I was pleasantly surprised! My dogs loved it and ran around like idiots! There is lots of shade and benches. Plus a pool for the dogs! Although the pool was dirty and needed to be cleaned out. My only complaint with this dog park Is that it's in a not-so-nice part of town. Make sure you lock your doors!

    Great FREE park!

This park is great and, unlike many parks in Jacksonville, free! People and dogs are friendly. They opened up both a small dog park and a large dog park sesperate from each other. The large dog park is big and has a path along its circumference with various shaded benches (I like to lie on a bench and read while my American Bulldog runs around). There is a doggy water fountain and lots of open grass. They just built a small stage with a hose and place to tie up your dog, which is great when the park gets muddy and you need to hose your pup off before heading home. I'm blessed to live within walking distance! After you hit the park, head over to three layers or uptown market for breakfast. Springfield is becoming a beautiful neighborhood! Check it out :)

    Excellent Dog Park!

This is an excellent dog park! We travel a lot and visit dog parks all over and really like this one. It's large enough for large dogs to run and play and socialize, with lots of benches for folks to sit on.

It's next to a kids playground as well which is a plus for families!

Really great park and good location

This is a good dog park, no bells and whistles but folks and pups are friendly. Very nice large grass play area, and the benches and walk ways are a nice touch. Plenty of poop bags, but we do find bombs here more often that most dog parks. They are building a kids park and public basketball area next to it (curious what will happen when they open that) The water fountain area needs fixed, it over flowers often and has a huge very thick muddy area that could be fixed with rock, or sand or something. Must check out if visiting and especially if living in the area, i like it better than paws park down by the beach. the other parks are pay to enter so no comparison is fair to that.

    Great park, cool neighborhood!

I'm lucky to live within walking distance of this park and for a dog lover like me, it's a blessing! The park is very popular and always has visitors and their pups (unless it rains, then it's muddy!). Shaded benches for owners, doggy water fountains, waste disposal and wide open spaces make the park an easy way to give your dog a great time. There's a sports court and children's playgounf being built next door too, so there's usually people around. The area is cute with older, historic houses. You can tell its an up and coming neighborhood, but still has some rough edges, so be aware of your surrondings. Tip: afterwards, stop by Three Layers Cafenat 6th and Walnut and grab a bite to eat or frozen mocha. There's a place to tie up your dog too!
