Nice dog park be aware of owners

we have a pit & lab mix both are large dogs that love to play & run. we did have a owner ask if we are coming into the park ( small dog side ) we said No which made them happy. large dog side very nice with share & places to relax. there was also a water hose that can be used to raise or cool down your dog

    Small Space

This park meets the need but nothing extravagant. It is not very large compared to the off leash parks we're used to in Kansas. There is plenty of shade and a water fountain, a few benches for owners to sit, but no walking trails for pets and owners, this is truly just an oversized backyard with a few amenities. Human encounters were not of the friendliest, but this is Polk county, and we didn't really expect much better.

    Great Dog Park overall

We've been coming here for years, first with a Shih Tzu and now with a Lab mix. The park is well maintained and a great place for dogs to run.

It's true. Once in awhile there are aggressive dogs and a rude person but usually only rude when they are immature and you protest that your dog is being bullied. 99% of the time, dogs work it out and end up running and playing together. Our dog is totally non aggressive and that helps a lot. She absolutely loves running and this is the only place she can run full out!

There have been times when we needed to move our dog from the big dog side to the smaller dog side where we know she interacts well, simply because a scarey dog showed up on the other side. But that's on the rare side.

I'm just sad that Diogi is closed now, waiting for everything else to be cleaned up after hurricane Irma before they open it. It would take so little to give so many people and their dogs pleasure but they just won't do it. We don't know if it could be weeks.

    Loves this dog park

We have been going for at least 5 mths, 2 to 3 times a week. Mornings and evenings. My Jack Russell Mix is about 21lbs and we visit both sides. She loves the pits, Frenchies and Beagles. MOST people are nice and considerate. But as in any situation you will come across a few who don't clean up after their dogs or don't stay with their dogs. They will sit in their car on the phone. A few owners who don't pay attention. I have witnessed a few squabbles but I watch my dog very closely and If I see this we move to the other side. My dog LOVES LOVES coming here and after ON-LEASH we go for a walk. we could go to Seffner's Mango Park which is closer but the reviews are pretty bad so we will stay here.

    Favorite Florida dog park

We have visited quite a few parks & this is our favorite. Blows my mind that I'm reading that there are rude pet owners at this park, or someone was kicked out. I have never seen anyone in any kind of management position that could do that- interesting.

Anyway- I LOVE going to this park & enjoy every time I am there. We are on the small dog side- rarely see dog fights on the large side, but they do happen. They're dogs. Just like humans- some just don't get along. That's why the pet owners need to do just that- take ownership & watch their dogs when they are there.

    Not a safe place

I have been taking my 28 pound rescue here for about once a week over six months during weekdays (weekends are too many dogs) with regret, I will never take my dog here again unless a certain male owner is banned from the park. He has a catahoula that he has named "Cat." This man constantly trains negative and aggressive behaviors and will tell Cat to "get em" if other dogs are involved in an altercation. The first thing you never do if dogs are fighting is add another dog to the mix. He claims it's to "break up the fight" but he is an ignorant fool. He will tease and agitate Cat until she gets aggressive and will keep her barking. Dogs will not always get along with each other. It is your responsibility to watch your dog and make sure they do not act aggressive to other people and dogs. Please educate yourself and read if you don't understand dog behaviors. Also, there is rules posted outside the gates, PLEASE ABIDE THEM. It makes the dog park experience truly wonderful for you and your pet.

    Love it!

We have been going here for a few months now and our dog loves it! We usually go on Sundays and there are always lots of dogs for him to play with. We have only ran into 1 "mean" dog and the owner left after a few minutes.

    Very nice

I brought my 2 pit mixes and didn't have a negative experience at all! The dogs were all friendly, even when it got a bit crowded (Sunday afternoon) and the people were very nice to us an the dogs. There were even small children running around in harmony with the dogs. The only issue is that I noticed a lot of messes that weren't picked up and that made walking around kind of annoying. The agility obstacles were fun, I wish they would add a couple more. Definitely going back :)

    nice but

I have been taking my dog here for a year and I have had both good and bad experiences. Some pet owners are rude and can be slightly obnoxious but if you go in the mornings on the weekend or a little later in the afternoon you can avoid most of the problems. My 3 year old husky beagle mix loves big dogs even tho she is on the medium size I always take her over to the big dog side so she can play I have just learned to watch my dog pretty close and try to go when it's not extremely busy.

    Nice

I haven't had the experiences described above. Saturday mornings are popular with friendly people. My dog goes to the small dogs area and she has a lot of friends. I've been multiple times and have never had a problem.
