Truman Little White House

Truman Little White House in Key West is pet-friendly. The 33rd president tended to escape to the former naval officer’s housing when winter weather in Washington D.C. began to bite. Taft, Eisenhower and JFK all called the palm tree-lined pad their vacation home while serving as POTUS, too. Dogs aren’t allowed inside the house, but are welcome on the lawn to snap a picture and for a walk around the Truman Annex surrounding the building, as long as they are leashed. Visit Website

Less Than Thrilled
The description here is correct — pets aren’t allowed in the house; just on the grounds. There are plenty of places to walk dogs with grass rather than paying admission just to take my dog onto their grounds. Meh.

Extremely Accommodating
After a zero bone review of another local historical home, decided to go to LWH. WOW! not only could my service fog walk on the grounds, but he could go on the tour!!! Kurt was so great at tour guide, I highly recommend! Ten out of five bones!!!
