I guess things have changed bc we were not allowed to take our pups anywhere off leash, let alone most places leashed. We paid $18 for 2 and we're only there 45 minutes bc of the pups.
- CassidyFeb 24, 2024Great day for June!
June loved climbing all over the fort, going up and down the stairs, and relaxing on the beach! We had a great FULL day and took a picnic lunch to enjoy. I can imagine that the stairs and brick paths would be too hot for paws in the summer.
There is plenty to see here if you enjoy history. The beach was quiet. I wouldn’t swim there but it was great for June to explore!
Only downside was that dogs are not allowed on the pier right before the entry gate. - HeatherJan 20, 2024Fun to explore!
This is a cool historic site with lots of levels, hallways, twists and turns. My dog was so engaged and into checking everything out. There are some stairs that we didn’t take because they were just too steep for my old man dog. Everyone including other dogs were friendly and respectful. If your dog is a barker, you will find they echo inside the fort. LOL After we checked out the fort we went out to the beach area just in time to see a pod of dolphins jumping and showing off! It was a fun time.

The fort is a great place to enjoy with your dog with access to the beach on the bay side. But please beware of the burs that are in most of the grassy areas that are around the sites to see. I had no clue they were there and are super sharp. After realizing the amount of burs, I took more caution.
- KathyOct 4, 2023Excellent bite of history in dog-friendly locale
Dogs were no issue here which was so appreciated - quite opposite of the in-town beaches that one comes to enjoy but are not allowed with pet.
- GregoryFeb 9, 2023Great fort to explore
Fort Morgan was larger and more interesting than other old forts that we've visited. It's also rare in being so welcoming to dogs throughout the site.

our family spent hours exploring the fort and area all around. this is a very pet friendly place. there is a little faucet outside the restroom building that we used to refill the doggy water bottle.
visit the Fort but then explore so much more around the fort. - LisaJun 14, 2022Amazing place to explore
