Clean rooms!

Candlewood Suites Goodlettsville - Nashville an IHG Hotel

I was very impressed with this hotel. I am very picky about everything but I couldn’t complain. The room was one of the cleanest hotels I’ve ever stayed. The kitchenette in the room was great for being able to care for and feed my dog. It was quiet in the hotel and it smelled nice. The staff was friendly. We only stayed one night as this was halfway between our home and vacation site. It says they accept large dogs but when I signed the pet waiver it said our dog couldn’t be more than 80 pounds. He is 97 pounds and I didn’t say anything. They didn’t say anything so we had no issues, but had they had someone on staff that questioned things it could have been a different story. They were so nice though, I really don’t think the staff cares about the size as long as the dog is well behaved. I would stay here again.

Fun to explore!

Fort Morgan State Historic Site

This is a cool historic site with lots of levels, hallways, twists and turns. My dog was so engaged and into checking everything out. There are some stairs that we didn’t take because they were just too steep for my old man dog. Everyone including other dogs were friendly and respectful. If your dog is a barker, you will find they echo inside the fort. LOL After we checked out the fort we went out to the beach area just in time to see a pod of dolphins jumping and showing off! It was a fun time.

Great beach!

Fort Morgan Historic Site Bayside Beach

We just visited this beach in January. It’s easy to find if you use the address for Fort Morgan Historic site. There is a parking lot right before you drive into the Fort that has access to the beach. If you walk to the pier, the entrance to the beach is just to the left. They also have hoses available for rinsing there. We went there several days on our vacay. There was a lot of debris and some creatures like horseshoe crab and jellyfish that washed up after some storms. The debris is mainly driftwood and we never encountered trash. We found a spot that was mainly clear and put down a blanket and hung out for hours. It was too cold for us to swim but my pup dipped his paws in and took a little swim. We encountered several people with dogs, all friendly and respectful. We saw several dolphins! I would definitely go back and if warm enough, wouldn’t hesitate to get in the water.
