  Lovely, family and pet friendly!

  This was not what I was expecting at all! This is such a well kept CITY park!!! It is $5 per car but to me that is WELL worth it. There is camping, bike rental, beaching, trail hikes, and plenty of places for picnics! Everyone was so kind and generous but the two dogs had THE TIME OF THEIR LIVES. We will definitely be back and we will be bring our camper next time for the dogs to enjoy the beach even more than what we were able to do today!

  Super dog friendly with lots of recreation options!

  I took my dog canoeing here and he had a blast. All of the areas including the beach are dog friendly. Make sure to bring water and bags for your pup!

  Great spot to bring your pup!

  this park is massive there are tons to do with your pup(s). dogs must remain leashed, the beach is clean and there are several trails to hike/walk. there is a fee to enter but if you are active duty or retired military they offer a discount. I took my three pups they loved it. there is a lake where you can watch the sunset! I highly recommend this park.

  Beach and trails

  We brought our two dogs on a glorious late January day to romp in the sand, and enjoy the trails.
  Dogs are allowed, on leash on the beach as well as walking trails. We went on a Monday and the beach was all but deserted, enabling us a short free run into the surf.
  There are alligators around the lakes, so keep your eyes open and definitely stay on leash (and obviously out of the water) in those areas.

  Great Outing

  wonderful place to walk the dogs on the beach or on a trail around the lake. $5 admission but well worth it.

  Nice Mix Of Forest Trails And Beach

  We hiked 3 miles through Florida “forest”. Trails are marked, intersect with biking trails. Other side of the park is a beach. $5 for entrance. Dogs must be leashed.

  I want to live here!

  So much to do in this park! I visited from Indiana in February. It was very windy and about 67 degrees. Perfect for my 11-year-old golden retriever but still a little chilly for me. He enjoyed playing on the beach with other dogs. I was told by a local that the dogs could play off-leash in the water but other than that they need to be on a leash. It was very clean. They had bathroom facilities near the beach including an outdoor shower that I made my dog stand under to get off some sand (pointless lol). Next year I plan on coming back and staying at the campground.

  A ton of activities for your dog and you

  When looking for dog-friendly beaches in the Jax area, we found this lovely park on BringFido.com. It did not disappoint! We spent our first afternoon running and playing on the beach/in the ocean, chasing seagulls and sandpipers, and walking the 1.5 miles of oceanfront. Molly is 10 months old, and this was her first intro to the beach/ocean. She's hooked! Bring doggie clean-up bags. I didn't see any available at the park/beach. The 2nd afternoon, we hiked the 4.5-mile South Loop trail around the park, and cooled off in the ocean again. 99.9% of the trail was covered by the tree canopy, so we did not bake in the sun, though it is FL and it is hot. The several hiking/biking trails are well marked and easy to follow. No hiking boots needed, since it's sand ... tennis shoes are fine. It is a beautiful park, and they alternate the days on which mountain bikers can ride the individual trails, so you can choose a trail sans bikers. The $5 per car/day entrance fee is well worth it. The park is well maintained and not overly crowded. Dogs are welcome everywhere on a leash (8' or less). We will definitely be back! Loved it!

  Great Park! Lots to do!

  My husband and I went here with our 8 month old puppy. There was a $5 entry fee, but definitely worth it. We only checked out the boardwalk and beach area, but there were lots of trails and a dog park as well. Lots of greenery around, upon arriving at the beach we saw a wild sea turtle in the dunes. A few minutes later we saw multiple groups of dolphins swimming and playing close to shore. Our pup took his first dip in the ocean and enjoyed running around in the soft, white sand. Would definitely go back and explore some more next time we visit!

  fantastic day out!

  Lots of trails and paths to follow alongside the lake, plus miles of beach to walk along. Dogs allowed pretty much everywhere as long as they are leashed. BBQ pits to use near the lakeside.
