    Absolutely the best dog park

The size of this park alone is phenomenal. The lawn is always well manicured. I have a 15 pound puppy and if there are larger or rough dogs it's easy to spread out and get away. I tend to go in the afternoon on weekdays and am usually the only person there. The bad reviews that talk about the behavior of other dogs aren't valid. You can't rate a dog park based on dog owners inability or unwillingness to control their dogs. That is no fault of the park. Definitely recommend 100%.

    The Best in Delaware

This is our favorite dog park, lots of room and grass! There are a few shade trees but generally open. I recommend moving to the rear of the park to play as most of the activity tends to congregate near the gate. With one exception, we have always found the dogs there to be very social and well-behaved.

    MIDDLETOWN, DE

Not wanting to brag, BUT being a resident of Middletown, we could not be prouder of this park! The facility is kept very clean. The fence is sturdy & in good repair. There is a water fountain for the dogs & their parents, benches, poop bags (if you don't have any), and trees. I saw one comment complain about lack of shade. It is a relatively new park and the trees do need time to grow. But, the dogs are there to run & play. ----> My husband said not to say too much good cuz then everybody will know our secret place! We AND our dogs (3 mini poodles) <3 it!!

    no shade

It's a dog park. Dogs go there to play and they get excited. If you can't handle being around other people and their dogs then fence your yard and don't come here. Little kids should not be allowed in the park with the large dogs. I have two German Shepherd dogs. They are very well behaved and are not allowed to take treats or toys from strangers. Not all dogs are trained they way. Its not an easy thing to teach. We haven'tbeen to the pParke in a year. Its very close but with no shade large dogs over heat quickly. So we don't go anymore. Also another reason children should not be allowed. My dogs love to play and chase each other. They usually do this and any human close by becomes base in their game of tag. The run past and sometimes knock into.people. but that's just what they do. If you can't handle being bumped every once imln a while stay away from the park. When the trees grow large enough for shade we may go back. Until then we will take them elsewhere.

    Great Park!!!

This dog park was great with huge fenced areas! There are two separate areas for small and large breeds! Absolutely worth the hour drive I made and will definitely do it again!

    Big open park

This is a great park for large dogs to really be able to get out and run. Most people clean up after their dogs, and due to the size of the park, the grass is in very good condition. The only thing I would say is that a dog park is not necessarily the place for small children. If a small child is in the park and my well socialized, raised with kids, 100lb dog knocks them over; I can't say it's the fault of the dog. For the same reason that children in strollers are not allowed at dog shows, I think small children should not be allowed at a dog park with large dogs present.

    ELLIE in Bear

We have been bring our two dogs to this fabylous park since it opened. The drive from Bear is 22 miles each way but so worth the trip. It is by far the nicest dogpark Delaware has to offer. The people and dogs we have met while visiting have all been friendly and our dogs are excited each time we ask " want to go to the park". The grass and area are very well maintained by the town of Middletown. Unfortunately there will always be folks that don't clean up after their pets but for the most part the area is kept very clean. All the dog lovers we have met take responsibility for cleaning up, even after other folks pets. If there were a 10 star rating this park would get it from us!!! Thanks Middletown we love your park!!!

    Be responsible

My husband and I love bringing our dog to this dog park! There is so much room to run and play.
My only issue is some of the dog owners. If you have a dog that is not well behaved then do not bring them! I am so tired of certain dogs nipping at my hands for a ball or toy and having the owners do nothing. Some owners say their dogs are their children well children have rules and so should dogs. I like to bring my son to throw the ball and he loves to pet the other dogs and play with them, but if a dog comes up and nips his hand for a toy and the owner doesnt do anything there is a problem there. Be responsible and respectful of others. I do not allow my dog to nip or grab or jump out of repect and I do not want to nipped or jumped on. This happened today with my husband and son. We are happy that our son is not scared of dogs but having a big dog run up and snag something from his hands almost knocking him down then the owner getting upset when my husband pushes there dog away from our son.....? Take your dog to an obediance class! Because having to give your dog a treat to release a toy because it wont listen to you!!! Is ridiculous and calling you dog over and over again without any response! Good luck lady and you should be glad you had to deal with my husband instead of me.

    Great Dog Park

Bring my dog up once a week. Love the grassy area and gives my dog room to run and play. The park also has nice walking path to walk your dog on a leash.

    Great Park for Pooches !!

I have been visiting this park for a year or two. All the patrons are friendly and polite, and have wonderful dogs. I am looking forward to the trees getting bigger and providing more shade. FYI....The water fountains are turned off for the winter,so bring your own water and bowl. Also, there's a nice playground for the kiddies, right next door.

    Middletown Dog Park

This is a great park. Been there several times since the opened. The have a 3 acre small dog side, and a 5 acre big dog side, both are fully fenced. The park is all open and grass, with several freshly planted trees and new benches. Fountains for the dogs, and depending on how often people visit, they usually have bags for clean up too.
