Mt. Van Hoevenberg in Lake Placid, NY is a sports center developed for the 1980 Olympic Games which offers numerous pet-friendly hiking trails. One of the most popular routes is the Mt Van Hoevenberg East Trail, a well-appointed 4.7 mile trail filled with wildflowers, fall foliage and offering spectacular views from the 2,940-foot summit. There are several shorter trails to suit those looking for easier or quicker walks with Fido.

We knew we could take out dog on the hiking trail but when asked if she could come inside we were told YES! The lady was very nice and said dogs were permitted anywhere except in the restaurant.
We hiked the Mt. Van Hoevenberg trail and loved it , beautiful views. The trail is about 3.2 miles out and back.
