Masterson dog park in Georgetown was fabulous. The dogs got to run free and they have water stations for them. Ran into other dogs, all super friendly. They even got to see horses on the trail adjacent to the park.
- NoelApr 28, 2023Beautiful park, and it is HUGE!
They have two very large fenced in areas - but be careful. A lady lost her dog that found a hole in the fence and the entire property is vast, so you must have a great recall with your dog.
Its also beautiful to walk on the outer area, so pretty. We used our long leash and our dog had a wonderful time.

Great spot. Was worried based on the review about a theft, so felt good I could see my car while I was there! This place is HUGE, which was great for my Samoyed to run. We went around 10 AM on a Sunday. Def recommend you have a great recall with your pup. WIth it being so big, if something goes down on the other side it can take a bit to get to your pup! We had one dog try to hump her but the owner took him out real quick, and other than that just lots of great playmates. Would recommend!

Traveling with 3 Goldens from Michigan and this was a great place to let them run! We were the only ones there at the time we stopped.
- MichaelJun 19, 2021Great dog park but a word of warning!
This is truly a wonderful dog park however we offer a word of warning that may save you some grief. Due to the size and isolation of this park it is frequented by thieves. After having our windows smashed and my wife's purse stolen (in the middle of the day) we were told by locals and the police it's a frequent problem at this park with the theives doing a quick smash, grab and run. Do not leave any valuables in your car or wander far from it and consider leaving your windows down.

Here on vacation from Michigan and I would consider moving to Kentucky just for dog parks like this! so much room, so many friendly doggos! I brought my 4 month old puppy and I am always worried about him having a negative interaction with aggressive dogs. but every dog here was so great! attentive owners and very nice people overall.

This dog park is huge. Lots of area for the dogs to run around in. Lots of tree for shade and benches. We met some really nice dog parents too.

I just got a new husky and this park is the best for her. There are also always a lot of nice dog moms and dads hanging around!
- TheresaMar 15, 2019Super Big Park
Traveling through on our way home to Michigan and our two black labs needed a potty and run break. This park was a great place to stop. Nice, well maintained area. Our pups had lots of room to run.

We’re visiting from MI and stopped by to let our dog run after a 6 hour road trip. What a beautiful, huge park! He loved it! All fenced in, tons of room to run. We’ll be back!

We love going to Masterson, lots of space to run, and many new dogs and people to socialize with. Pretty centrally located and easily accessible to Lexington, Georgetown, Frankfort, and Woodford country residents with it being off leestown road near new circle. We often walk on a long leash across the horse cross country course, and plan to bike there with the dog more often. Only concern is make sure you lock your car doors since it is a heavily trafficed area.

We come to Masterson station numerous times. Went to Jacobson dog park today, I still prefer Masterson station. Both have 2 very big fenced in areas. Masterson station has more trees & shaded areas, flat ground. Jacobson hardly any trees except one section of 1 of the fenced in areas and hilly so good for dogs who love to run! Still prefer to go to Masterson station. Both have benches, water fountains for dogs, poop bag stations. Masterson station does have a porta potty outside of the fence that I didn't see at jacobson. I don't know if it was the area it was in but when I was at jacobson park there were 2 police cars 1 parked at the entrance and the other just circling the park over and over which I've never seen at Masterson station, which in my opinion seems like it's safer.

I have 2 Australian Cattle Dog mixes, and this is the only park we go to! We've tried all the parks in Lexington, and this one is the best!

We live right across from the park and its so nice at first to be able to run over to the park everyday after work. Sadly it got to wear the humans who started bringing their pups were rude. Very clicky. There are two large sides and its very nice when there are no "rude humans" there. Sadly the only water fountain is on the far end of one of the sides. The sides are not marked small or big, so you will encounter every size in each side.

I stopped here on a road trip to let my dog run around. The park was huge! Both of it's section had lots of room to run. There were two section but no distinction on large and small. Most people used both. One of the rules is that owners of small dogs are supposed to really watch their dogs. I liked that because generally the smaller dogs are the ones who cause the problems and then their owners aren't responsible. The only thing I didn't like was that the water fountains were all the way at the other end of the park and the park really is huge. At least four or five acres.
