    Not bad but be cautious.

I was there on a day after a big rain. It was misty. I agree you need to be careful about the fence, but if you are not keeping an eye on your pupper then you should not be in such a place anyways. My concern is that there were a number of muddy puddles in the grass, not a huge deal, but I did see a small dig out. I made sure my dog stayed away from those but the were not easy to see in the grass. I only saw it as I was following my dog. It would be really easy if a dog stuck their paw in it to do damage. Probably not big enough to be an issue for larger dogs though.

    Great park

for the most part all of the dogs and people are friendly, my husky has a blast here with all of her friends.

    Never again!

So my dig runs away and wont come back. So I bring him to wilson park. He ran around a while happy as a clam..then suddenly he was outside the fence area and off into the woods out of sight. What good is a dog park if dogs can get out on either side of where the fence meets the river? And no notice is given about this possibility. I guess I just assumed that the whole place was secure. Shame on you Wilson Park. If you have a dog that will run away, please dont take him here and save yourself heartache.

    A FEE

From out of town. We were looking for dog parks to visit in the area, found this one. But pay to play. No Way. A donation box is nicer. Snobs.

    swimming big trees bad fence

this is a beautiful park! but it's muddy, not much they can do about that. the fence is not completely closed in and there is plenty of room for your dogs to walk right around where the fence meets the Mississippi. people don't seem to get that if you go over by these edges your dog most likely will be curious and check out the gap between the fence and the water. my smaller dog can fit through the fence openings, the double entrance and the opening to allow a lawn mower in. the park is down a hill and surrounded by trees which makes you forget your in town and a feature I really like. the people are usually nice and watch there dogs but sometimes there are a few people that don't. but if your dog likes playing fetch in the water and you don't mind that there's a waste water plant right across the river that dumps it's water in it. then you should really check it out it is an okay park.

    Wilson Dog Park

Great dog park. Totally fenced in with access to the river for the dogs to swim.
Ashley, you were not in the dog park but in the "people" park.

    best in town

By far my favorite park around, all the people and their dogs are friendly, its nice and tucked back from the rest of the park so dogs don't often try to get out. There are BBQ pits just outside the fence so its easy to make a day out of a family trip to the park. Big play grounds, bathrooms, basket ball and fishing all in the same park area makes it great for everyone!

    Dog on the loose!

Great large park! I love the grass, shady areas, and beach/river for my dog to take a dip.
My dog escaped through the side fence because the fence only has three sides (the river acts as the fourth wall). As long as you keep an eye on your dog and they listen when you call, this is an awesome park!

    Not a dog park

Although this is a beautiful park to have your dog on a leash it is not a dog park.
