Woodview Off-Leash Dog Park

The Woodview Off-Leash Dog Park in Roseville, MN is cooperative project between the City of Roseville and Ramsey County. Dogs without a leash can be exercised in two soft trail areas. The area to the left of the park entrance is completely fenced so it is accessible to people with limited mobility, and it's perfect for off-leash play. The second area is not fenced, but is designed so that dogs can run free in approximately five acres of open space. Visit Website

    Only for Obedient Dogs

Woodview is a fine dog park. It is on a murky pond that dogs love (though they will need a bath afterwards). It is medium sized and suffices as a racetrack for dogs. The largest issue is it is not fully fenced in and borders the busy Larpenteur Avenue. There is a steep hill that dogs would have to run up to get to the road, but it still may make some owners uneasy. The area gets very bushy and overgrown in the late summer. There is also a second, smaller fenced in area near the parking lot for puppies and smaller dogs.

2 great areas for your dog

This park has 2 lovely, wooded play areas to choose from. The park on the upper level is small, has small dog hours and is completely fenced in. It is a great place for dogs to meet and dash around, and you do not need to get sunburned.

The larger park is mostly fenced, but it is good to keep an eye on your dog. Again, the area is well wooded, and though it may not be as large as some, there is still plenty of room to romp. Winter is particularly beautiful as you can go skidding out on the lake after that ball!

    tiny!

There are two parks here and I don't like either. The one is a tiny fenced in area that has specific times for small dogs only. However, if you bring bigger dogs outside of that designated time you get glares.

The other is a small area of land fenced on one side. The other sides are surrounded by swamp/water. Not good during the winter when it's frozen or if you have a dog that loves water.

2 parks to pick, depending on your dog

This park has two locations, as mentioned. I bring my dog to the smaller fully-fenced location almost every day. There are often dogs there and it is a great place to bring your dog for the shorter park trips. My dog gets plenty of running and playing even though the area is small. It's a great park for what it is - a small park.

    Not completely FENCED

There are two areas for dogs within this park. Next to the parking lot, there is a small dog area which in itself is not very large but works. Then if you go down the hill on the right side of the lot (facing the park, back towards Larpenteur) you will reach a larger SEMI fenced in area. The larger area butts up to a pond therefore is NOT completely fenced in on either side, one being residental and the other to Larpenteur Ave (which is extremely busy!). This park is wooded and small in comparison to other dog parks in the metro. So if your dog does not have a solid recall, I would avoid this park.
