We LOVE the Katy Trail - we walk here at least once each day. We always run into several friendly pups along the way. There are plenty of doggy poo bag stations scattered throughout the trail, as well as doggy water fountains attached to human water fountains. Highly recommend!

I love the way the trail is shrouded by trees. It makes you feel like you were in a private place even though you’re in the middle of the city. Also it’s fun to see the houses and apartments that back up to the trail. It’s very well-maintained and a very civilized place. I wonder about the Easter Island statue head. And then there is a Lady Madonna sculpture hidden inside a hollowed out tree trunk. This place has a lot of personality.

The Katy Trail is a great spot for both dog and people watching! The 3.5 miles of trail stretches from SMU campus to American Airlines center downtown traveling through Uptown, one of the most hip and walkable areas in Dallas. We hope you enjoy it.
And to Jay - I'm sorry you had a bad experience. We also ask that people pick up after their pets and are adding several more dog waste bag dispensers and trash cans.
