If you're just in for the day like us, this isn't going to work.

    Very clean

Good park. Nicely divided for small, medium, and large dogs. Wash down area. Attentive owners. Even if you didn’t use the dog park, there are miles of walking paths/bike paths around this park. Huge grassy areas and lots of palms for some shade. It was a great stop for us all.

Great dog bark and inclusive beach access

Yes...you have to buy an annual pass...a bargain for 3 beautiful beaches and Mizner Bark.
All are very clean and well maintained. Passes are easily obtained at Sugar Sand Park..Patch Reef Park and city hall. Our small puppy loves it...she is a very energetic breed and needs a lot of exercise. There is no place in my gated country club that she can run and play. The dogs and the owners that we have met are very friendly.
I read a bad review about car break ins..cmon...who leaves valuables in any public parking area..whether or not the car is locked.

    Great dog park

This is a great dog park, separate areas for different size dogs plenty of shade, covered sitting areas and gets a nice breeze. You need a parking permit the rangers do check permits are free to residents of boca and can be picked up at multiple locations Sugar Sand park is the closest just a few miles down the road.

    Parking is a hassle!

The park is nice, but parking is a real pain because you have to have a parking pass. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else.

    Realistic Reviews

As a homeowner in the City of Boca Raton I pay taxes which afford us some small privileges for our $4000+ a year. I don't understand why anyone outside of the city limits doesn't understand it costs money for a park like this and WE pay for it.

Beyond that, I used to go to this park but stopped because I saw adult men in a fist fight, cars regularly broken into (you're two far away with multiple gates to get thru which is why they target it), one dog owner try to sue another, and dogs that likely weren't vetted. My favorite was a woman who brought a toddler (under the height requirement in) and then gave me the stink eye when my puppy knocked him over. Who brings a toddler into a gated area with 50 unknown dogs. Anyway...

Sad as it may be (because you want them to run and socialize) there are just too many dangers there and i love my dog too much to take those risks.

FOCUS ON DOG OWNERS NOT PERMITS

This was our first visit to this dog park. We went because our husky puppy is medium size and this park offers small, medium, large areas. Irresponsible dog owners had large dogs (pit bulls) in this area. We witnessed three fights during our short, 10 minute visit before we got out of there. It's not the dog's fault, it is the irresponsible owners. Let's focus less on parking permits and more on the owner's following rules. A 100 lb. pit bull attacked a less than 10 pound cocker spaniel puppy. Why were these two dogs in the same gated area? Only the irresponsible owners can answer that. Never going back. Too bad for the poor dogs that have owners that don't socialize and teach them manners. Use your heads people so it can be a safe area for all!

    AGGRESSIVE PIT

I used to frequent this park at least four days a week with my Golden Retriever. I do not think that I will ever go to a dog park again. Yesterday (4/24/14) he was attacked by a pit bull. The Vet's exact words were, "If your dog had not been wearing a collar with a metal plate HE WOULD HAVE DIED." I am not one for breed shaming, but the owner did nothing to help. I just want others to be aware of a TAN PIT BULL WITH WHITE MARKINGS. He is VERY AGGRESSIVE. The dog's name was BOSS. He has been reported to the Boca Raton Police Department and the Boca Raton Parks and Recreation Department.

    Disappointed Doggie :(

We found this dog park on Google Maps and saw this dog park was a few miles from our home in Boca Raton. Packed up the dog, her water bowl, ball and headed off the the park only to find we're not welcome without a city sticker. You can't get this sticker there either, so you are just out of luck unless you know where to go get it. The city of Boca is very exclusionary to people even a few blocks over in 'unincorporated' Boca. I would love to change unincorporated Boca to any other name to not be associated with this behavior. We can't use the local library fully either, similar deal there too.

I live in Bova Raton and If you live in the city limits you can get your dog park striker completely free! The park is completely wonderful for dogs an their owners. The grass is very well maintained md manicured. The park has 3 sections oped at all times big, small, and medium. I hav never omc had a bad experience there.

    Park stickers

Overall, the park was in good shape and the people were relatively friendly. I was not impressed that only "residents" with stickers were allowed to bring their dogs to this park. I find this to be absurd and uppity.

    Park stickers

I'm not defending the park stickers. The city of Boca Raton does parking stickers for all of their parks including beach parking, for one annual fee. yes not a very inviting way to do it. Some parks have paid parking without a pass.

    Expensive Snobs

You can take your fido there if you live in the "correct" area of Boca Raton
Otherwise it costs 350 bucks a year

    parking

The park is great. But intended for residents only. Parking permits are required and the park rangers do issue tickets to illegal parking.
