Ueno Park

Ueno Station is an urban oasis in Tokyo. The park is a mecca of culture, art, wildlife, natural beauty, incredible architecture, and of course, cherry trees! Thousands of people (and dogs) gather in the park during cherry tree season to celebrate the beautiful pinkish-red blossoms that brighten the sky. Throughout the park, you’ll also see beautiful shrines and temples.

    Great day!

My two goldens Addie and Sunny LOVED this park! I had to restrain them from diving into the pond a few times though :P We suggest bringing LOTS of water and a picnic- there's heaps to do here! The dog run isn't actually a dog run, its just a concrete path around the park. My husband and 1 year old daughter seemed to have a nice day too. My husband took our baby girl in the boats (no big dogs) - and had to pay for rental there. Both my dogs (Addie, 1 and Sunny 3 months) loved running around in the grass. Great trip out of the city, both dogs and people will enjoy!

This is a great park with lots to do! However, for dog owners like us, it is a bit limiting! There are activities to do there, like boat rides and bikes, but for dogs there is only a small bit of grass and a concrete walk... I wouldn't make a trip of it, just a morning jog would be enough. Enjoyable walk though in Spring with the Sakura, for fido and us two-leggers ;)

    With leach

At Ueno park you can walk with your dog but only with a leach. There really is not a dog run. But many people actually take their dogs for walks.
