This was a great place to walk your dog. The trail is flat and follows along the bluff. Definitely an on leash area and everyone I saw was respecting this rule. Bring water for your dog since there wasnt any that I saw either at the trailhead or along the way. This is an AMAZING place to visit.

I am writing as the executive director of Friends of the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve. We love dogs and dogs love the Ranch! In order for everyone to enjoy their visit, Cambria Community Services District passed a NO EXCEPTIONS ordinance that requires that all dogs be on leash. This ordinance overrides the less stringent county ordinance. We also have a fenced off-leash dog park for free running. Please bring your dog for a good walk on 8 miles of trails. Fiscalini Ranch Preserve is one of the few open spaces on the Central Coast where dogs are allowed.

The trail on the preserve overlooks the beach and water below. It’s a wonderful walk along the bluffs. Dogs must be leashed. Parking is in a residential neighborhood.

Nice trails to explore, flat path along the bluff with some boardwalk. Keep it dog heaven please. Dogs need to be on leash and please keep your waste bags with you until you get to the trash can at each entrance. No restrooms on site and there is limited parking. Loose dogs can go to the dog park in town located near Cambria Pines off Burton Dr in town.

An easy walk for my senior dog, not too strenuous. ocean view. I saw reviews that stated there were off leash dogs in past years. It’s definitely on-leash only now (which is good because they’re trying to preserve the ecosystem). I would highly recommend this walk

We had such a nice walk here this morning, we’re going back tomorrow! they have it set up in a loop to be super COVID safe, which is great, but also helps us by not having to constantly keep the puppy from jumping on folks going the other direction. We’re working on his “no jump” command. Trail is super easy and the views are amazing.

Great area to talk a walk with your four footed friends. There are boardwalks along the coastline and dirt and gravel paths on the upper trails.
Trash cans for waste and bags for pickup if you forgot your own.
This is a leash only area, that makes it friendly for dogs and people. - KimMore than a year ago4
This was a beautiful easy walk. First time ever for our 8 yr. old Pitbull mix to the beach and it was a positive experience. We didn't see anybody with dogs off their leashes which we were glad for. I could see the potential danger for animals off leash if they were to chase the numerous squirrels; they could find themselves running off the cliffs to the rocks below. For those worried about the hike it is easy. My husband is ill with bone cancer and he was quite invigorated by the breeze, scenery, and ease of the walk. Only downfall is limited parking, approximately 3 car spaces to use. All other parking must be found in the narrow streets of the neighborhood.

Specatcular! Large park with trails along the cliffs and back into the hills - great for short or longer hikes with your dog. One of the best!

I am not sure where Melanie in Cambria got her information, but dogs under voice control are allowed off leash in some areas. Dogs must be on leash on the bluff trails. Remember that voice control means that your dog comes back immediately when called, otherwise he must be on leash. This area has both grassy areas and forest for your dog to explore as long as you don't let him run up to people or leashed dogs.

Despite what I have read on this web site, Fiscalini Ranch is NOT a dog park. As a matter of fact, dogs are SUPPOSED to be on leashes at all times. This preserve has some very ecologically sensitive areas that can be disturbed by unleashed pooches. There are also some residents who would like for the leash laws to be obeyed.

Great place to let your dog run off leash. There is also a dog park in Cambria and by Hearst Castle, it's ok to have your dog off leash there as well.
- BernieMore than a year agoGreat for dog lovers
What a great spot! Cambria has no where to let your dogs run free and this was a welcome relief. It is a beautiful spot and the dogs ran all over and had a blast. Grounds are kept very clean by dog owners.
Made it worth the trip to Cambria.
