Great spot for a quick hike!

The nature preserve is a great, local gem. There is a nice, paved nature trail that is easy to complete. Nice interior trails to wander around as well. Plenty of space to enjoy a picnic. Very dog friendly - lots of families walking pups. Highly recommend.

Great spot for nature walks

We enjoyed our time walking all the paths. It’s a beautiful spot for walking and picnicking. There are plenty of places to sit and rest as needed. The facility has a nice nature center and playground for the kids. Public restrooms available. Parking is not free, but for $6.50, it’s worth it.

Hidden gem

Park was easy to find. Ample parking. Lots of little trails in and around the park. The dog park is easy to find. One possible drawback - while the dog park itself is very large, it doesn’t have multiple sides for large vs. small dogs. Some owners prefer to keep smaller dogs in a separate enclosure. We had the entire dog park to ourselves today. Tons of room for pups to run and play fetch.

Good location for one night stay

I wasn’t expecting perfection for the price and for the no pet fee. Checked in, went to my room, found that the comforter had cigarette holes and the door wouldn’t lock. Went up to the reception and asked to change my room because it was unsafe since it couldn’t lock - receptionist mentioned that a number of other people had complained as well that their deadbolts wouldn’t work. Got into a second room, locks worked, sheets were stained and half the lights didn’t work. At this point I was too tired, figured it’s just one night. Other than it being in a good location, there really wasn’t much to celebrate about this motel. Such a shame because we used to stay in Motel 6 properties when we traveled as a family with our parents. The quality has gone down.

Good food, dogs allowed on outdoor patio

I ate here based on a recommendation from the cashier at Dogologie. She used to work at this restaurant and highly recommended it. The staff was very accommodating and allowed us to sit on the outdoor patio. Be aware their outdoor patio is on decomposed granite so your pump may get a little dirty. When you arrive, and they give you the menu, they do provide you a set of rules that you have to adhere to in order to dine here. Food was good. Plate was hefty!

Beautiful garden walk with Christmas lights

We enjoyed this event! There were many dogs and people attending the event. You get one hour to walk the garden. That is plenty of time. It’s a nice stroll around the garden which is beautifully illuminated with all different types of Christmas lights. There are plenty of opportunities for photos. When we checked in, they also gave us tickets to return during the day. If you have a hard time, maneuvering the path, they offer a wheelchair that can traverse the path. Parking is a little tight, so make sure you get there early enough. Otherwise, the lot can get full and you may need to park offsite. Before or after the event, there are plenty of places nearby to either grab a snack or have a meal.

Decent for a one night stay

The hotel was very accommodating for pet owners. The rooms are simple but adequate. There is a continental breakfast with coffee, yogurt, pastries, waffles, and fruit. There’s plenty of space for dogs to do their business near the property. There is also a dog park at the adjacent loves gas station. The only negatives: the hotel is right next to the freeway so if you are a light sleeper, the noise may be bothersome. Also, rooms got cold and bedding wasn’t warm enough so you may need the heater on at night.

Great waterpark

We enjoyed our afternoon at the water park. Fellow pups and owners were friendly. Dogs were all enjoying playing in and around the pool. For newbies, there is a shallow end. For dogs that enjoy swimming and jumping into deeper water the other side of the pool has a deep end. There is a nice shaded area for pups and their owners. We would happily return for open swim.

Wonderful crew for tours!

We had a great time on our tour with Leslie! She did a great time of showing us how to use the e-bikes and most importantly, making sure the pups were comfortable. My pup LOVED riding in the sidecar. We enjoyed our trek through Carmel and Leslie shared so much information about the local history! I would return again for another ride with my pup!

Wonderful beach!

This is a great place to bring your pup! The sand is so soft. It’s an easy walk from downtown if you don’t want to park nearby. There are bathrooms at the entrance. There are no concessions here; but, bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the day! People and their pups were very friendly and respectful.

Great location, delicious food

This place is more than a coffee house! Yes, there are plenty of coffee options! They also have grab and go food and drink options. I ate lunch here right before heading to the beach. They are located right off Ocean Avenue, tucked into a little alley. It’s a perfect space as you don’t get a lot of noise from the street. They were great about allowing me to bring in my pup to order. Friendly service and great food. Would return again.

Delicious food, gracious service

Pups and their owners were warmly welcomed to dine on the outdoor patio. The food here was delicious. Loved their bouillabaisse soup! They brought out grilled chicken and water for my pup. Servers were very attentive, checking in on us frequently. The owner came out and chatted with us for a bit. I’d gladly return next time I’m in town.

Perfect place for a walk with the pups

This is a beautiful place to walk with your pups. There are paths all over the place. Plenty of people and pups. The only downside, no outdoor bathrooms. The parking lot is a bit small and gets full on the weekends, so be prepared for street parking.

Wonderful winery

This is a great place to enjoy an afternoon visit. The staff are very welcoming of families with pups. We appreciated our winetasting service as well as the tour of the caves. We really enjoyed the service, not only were they very attentive to humans, but two pups as well. Our hostess, Tamara, was kind enough to bring water and treats, including a cheese tax for our pup.

Great location, friendly pups

We stopped here a few times this weekend. My pup enjoyed the large, open space to run around and chase balls. Pups and their humans very social and friendly. There are two sides, one for large pups and the other side for small pups. There is no onsite bathroom, but there is an adjacent tennis court park with one porta potty.

Nice place to take a break and walk

We stopped here during a recent trip to the area. There isn’t much to see and visit. Pets are allowed to walk the orchards and the exterior of the onsite businesses. We weren’t able to walk a lot in the orchards due to the recent inclement weather. Fun little excursion.

July 2025 update: we stopped by again, and the orchard was brimming with activity! We were able to take a nice walk through out the Orchard. The pups are allowed in the orchards, and we enjoyed picking fresh berries. We also stopped by the fruit market to pick up some fresh fruit, veggies, nuts and desserts.

Great location and food!

This is a great restaurant. The food is delicious, and staff are especially accommodating of pups. While we were there, there were multiple families eating on the patio with their pups. The patio is a little small, so I apologized to our neighbors in an adjacent table as our pup was seated up next to them. They didn’t mind.

Great place for lots of steps and hills

We enjoyed our hike in Peter’s Canyon. There are a lot of little hills to go up and down, so you get in plenty of steps and work! If you are up for a challenge, suggest walking you and your pup up Big Red, the tallest hill in Peter’s Canyon. There is not a lot of shade in some places. Bring a hat and plenty of water. Parking is available on both entrances. One is a paid lot, the other side is street parking.

Wonderful area for a walk!

Wonderful day - will return next year!

My pup and I enjoyed this great event. The front part of the garden was dedicated to all the Oktoberfest activities. There was a nice beer, garden, stations to try beer, purchase drinks, and food. The stations also gave away dog treats, and also sold food for pups. After tasting some beer, we walked around the botanical garden. It’s a nice place to walk. There were lots of people there with their pups. Some pups even dressed up in costumes!

This is a great place to hike with your pups. There are enough trails for both long and short hikes. The trails are sandy and not compacted. Make sure you are wearing good shoes. After a hike take a stroll through the Mission Village. Bring lunch and save time for a picnic. There is a beautiful spot at the cross on top of the “Vista de la Cruz” trail or near/in the Mission.

Great dog beach, so easy to access

Rosie’s dog beach is a great place for you and your pup. In the past, I used to go to Huntington dog Beach. Fighting crowds and trying to find a parking space. With Rosie’s, there’s plenty of parking spaces in the parking lot next next to the beach. There are plenty of clean bathrooms and outdoor shower stations. When you are done at Rosie’s, check out the Paw Spa right down the street to bathe your pup before heading home.
