The trail runs alongside a stream and upward through an evergreen forest. You will reach the lakes at the timberline where Fido can take the opportunity to cool down with a splash in the water. Nice half day hike

Went on a Sunday and it wasn't too packed. Only saw a couple dozen people and a dozen or so other dogs. Many dogs off leash but all well behaved and under voice control. If you're not acclimated to the altitude (10,500 - 11,400 feet) you will feel this hike a bit but it's still not bad. Not too long but somewhat steep in some places. I only went to the lower lake, but you can walk around the entire lake easily and there are lots of places for the dog to enjoy the water. Nice hike!

    Great secluded trail!

Took my pup here about a month ago and it was great! Not too many people on this hike, and there is a lower lake AND upper lake - be sure to check out the upper lake! I can't remember if there were signs for leashing or not, but we had ours off leash and another hiker has his as well, both dogs able to be controlled by voice. Great hike!
