Mount Ellinor

Hoodsport, WA, is home to Mount Ellinor in the Olympic National Forest. This 6-mile roundtrip trail is pet friendly and welcomes hikers to bring their pups for the journey. In the spring, most people rush to the top of this path so they can come back down the glissade route. If traveling with Fido, you will want to wait until mid-July to take this route since he won't be able to get any traction in the snow. Come summer time you will want to bring plenty of water along. Manageable and challenging

Thankful for the tugging this tine, its steep and your pets are welcome on and off leash in all national forests. There however are no pets allowed in the national parks on the trails

    Amazing!!!

This is one of my most favorite hikes. Although, I didn't think leashed pets were allowed on the trails in the Olympia National Forest. If this is no longer the case, my dog would also love this hike. The view alone is worth the effort of getting up there.
