- AbdallahApr 11, 2023Nice short hike
excellent break from the city. 20 min drive. easy and well marked 1+1 mile hike, mainly flat, in the Savannah marches

Took our dog here and it was great! The park was beautiful and it was nice and quiet which was great for our dog that was overstimulated from river street the night before. Most of the trails are shaded. I imagine it can probably get pretty hot in the summer, so be sure to bring water for your pup! We went along the avion trail and there was a little area that had water access for the dog.

the walkways are clearly marked and provide solitude for a peaceful walk with your fur baby.
- MelissaDec 1, 2022Great camping and hiking
We loved camping at Skidaway Island SP. We stayed on site #50 - it was huge and level with full hookups. The staff was great. The grounds were very clean and well maintained. We enjoyed our daily hikes to the observation tower and the Sandpiper and Avian Loops. The dogs loved all the squirrels and deer. Very relaxing vacation with our 2 dogs. One of the best places we’ve camped.
- ENov 19, 2022Nice break from the City
Spent a few hours here with our pup today and enjoyed some nice trails in a serene nature setting. Paths are mostly level and an easy walk for even the most novice hiker. If you need to get you pup some relaxing exercise outside of the City, definitely stop by! $5 use fee that can be paid in cash or credit card at visitor center. Several nice picnic spots as well - pack a lunch and spend the day!

Needed something to do to allow the dog to walk without the crowds and traffic of Savannah. It was a nice easy hiking path and our dog Layla loved it. $5.00 a car to get it. We did not know that it had such nice picnic areas other wise we would have packed lunch. Just wish they would allow dogs in the cabins.

Just minutes from Savannah and what a different view. Beautiful park with well marked trails. we ran and strolled through all of them. $5 day pass and it is well worth it. Staff and rangers were super nice. Just a great day!

Trails are super fun, plenty of rest areas to stop and get a drink and even some photos. Absolutely beautiful.
- ChewbaccaJan 8, 2018Great hiking for this pup
We visited on a very cool day, but that didn't stop us from enjoying this lovely park. We stopped and got a map from the friendly people at the visitor's center and were able to spend about 4.5 hours hiking on the trails. Because of the weather, we only encountered a handful of people out hiking, but they were all friendly. Also lucked out and didn't run into any alligators!(signs are posted) Would recommend this to any pups looking to get out and stretch their legs! Fyi you do have to pay to park here.
- AlisonMore than a year agonice trails
Cool nature trails, dog friendly, clear paths. My dog loved it. It was a nice break from the savannah scene. There are multiples trails and distances to choose, ranging up to three miles.
- RykerMore than a year agoAwesome trail
We went over Labor Day weekend 2012 in the evening and only saw one other person on the 3-mile trail. Its a fun loop that goes through the forest and then along one of the many inland waterways. We saw some deer, heard an owl, and most importantly our dog had a blast. As with all the state parks, you are required to have a 6' leash and clean up after your pet. There were quite a few mosquitoes, but that is to be expected.
